Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomSuper continental breakfast, with honey collected by the proprietor as well as homemade yoghurt and stewed apple. The room was huge and bed very comfortable. There was plenty of space in the garden to eat our picnic dinner

United KingdomWow. What a beautiful location. The room was fabulous, with lovely bedding. Very comfortable bed. Spent a relaxing evening in the gorgeous gardens. The breakfast was a real treat as most of it was home made. Amazing confitures, yoghurts and compotes. Oliver and Fanny were excellent hosts and we couldnt wish for anything more.

United KingdomWe didn't like the bathroom, in particular, the shower. and found the room very dark, as it only had large glazed doors and no other windows. It proved difficult to find, sat nav sent us to the wrong place, and there was a barely legible sign we could not see coming from St Jean D'Angely..
Nice reception, jovial, and helpful hostess. Pleasant breakfast. Recommended a very nice, small restaurant in the town.

IrelandThe breakfast was lovely; every morning there were lovely little home made delicacies - cakes, biscuits, fruit. The hosts, Fanny and Olivier were very friendly and helpful. The accommodation was lovely and the swimming pool was a big bonus

United KingdomWe loved or stay here and wish it had been for longer. We were made welcome by our hosts. The room was large, very clean and the bed comfortable. Fanny's home made breakfast was really good and just what we needed to set us up for the day. Although Courcelles is a small community, the larger town nearby of Saint Jean D'Angly has a lot going on. We enjoyed looking around the market there, walking around the park and the old port and especially a lovely meal in town one evening. Its is relatively easy to drive into La Rochelle and Fanny advised us on a few points such as parking. It is beautiful there.

NetherlandsThis place was a huge disappointment. The beds were extremely uncomfortable, especially the flat, lumpy pillows. It was unbearably hot, and the fan didn’t work at all. The so-called mosquito net was useless since it didn’t even cover the top. Kitchen facilities were very limited, making it hard to prepare anything. While the garden could have been nice, it smelled awful due to dog poop, which made using the pool far from enjoyable. Overall, the place gave off the feeling that you were intruding on someone else’s privacy rather than being a welcomed guest.
Olivier was very helpful in recommending great places to visit during our stay. The rooms were spacious and the bathrooms were excellent

United KingdomWe arrived at the premises some 15 minutes earlier than required, but had to wait over an hour before anybody arrived to greet us and book us in. The first person to arrive was the owners son, who knew nothing of the booking. He contacted his father who then gave him the authority to book us in. We first met the owner the following morning when we went down for breakfast. Although he was quite pleasant, he offered no apology for the booking-in problems. The breakfast consisted of the standard French fayre of Bread, cold meats, cheese and homemade preserves, all of which were good except for the bread which appeared to be some few days old and rather chewy.
The room was very large and airy. The shower cubicle was a little smaller than I would have liked, but the water was hot and plentiful and the actual shower room/toilet was a good size. The location was very pleasant but remote from any food or drinks venues.
