Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FranceFor the price, a few mistakes from the staff (entering in our room with wet shoes!) and we had high exepectation for the food which was not great. The raw material in great but way too cooked and little choice. Also, we knew it but the spa is in a separate house so in the winter you have to take you coat!
Perfect for a get away week end. Quiet and peaceful. We played tennis, walked around, visited Etretat. Loved it.

An oasis of tranquility. We enjoyed walking through the forest each day after breakfast and made full use of the outdoor jacuzzi!

FranceBreakfast could offer more valiety of savory options for its price, but it's a really minor improvement suggestion.
Beautiful territory of the hotel with nature and farm animals. It's perfect if you are looking for a silence and nature. Comfortable room with a bathtub. We absolutely loved that each room name had a story associated to it. Spa is quite compact but nice. Friendly staff. Delicious lunch/dinner. We took a BBQ basket to prepare it in the specially arranged location in the forest and it was absolutely magical experience.

GermanyThe prices of the alcoholic beverages could be lowered a little bit. A glass of wine for 10€ is a bit stretched.

PolandWe arrived after 3 pm, so we missed the lunchtime frame. The lovely female from the reception had nothing to offer us except little, sweet snacks. It would be nice if the hotel could offer something more for hunger before dinner. The dinner was a bit overpriced, and drinks were not included. We didn't like the fact that you need to pay for almost everything extra – like water, tea, coffee, bike rental.
It’s paradise! The nature, location, and views are unique. I had a memorable time with goats. We enjoyed healing time in silence. When I saw our room, I was speechless. Breakfast buffet full of local, seasonal products, including incredible cheese. Spa has all you need, and the message was worth the price.

FranceOnly negative side, and the reason for not giving 10, are the check-in and check-out times. I still remember when the standard was 12:00 for check-out and 14:00 for check-in; regardless of the reasons behind it and ways to mitigate its impact on guests (you can use the spa and explore the property), a check-out at 11:00 and check-in at 17:00, when you pay more than EUR 400 a night, is difficult to understand.
Lovely small hotel, with its small buildings spread across a beautiful landscaped property. This is the perfect place if you want to be surrounded by nature and to relax. The room was great, with a comfortable bed and a nice tub. Same for the breakfast. We also enjoyed the jacuzzi and the heated pool. Étretat is less than 20m away (by car), so the location couldn’t be any better. The staff was very welcoming, professional while relax.

BelgiumThe dinner is really a let down, especially the vegetarian version. It’s bland and expensive for what it is. The place is not truly kids friendly with no spaces dedicated for kids (there is not a single playground in the vast 20 hectares park). It’s more suitable for couples looking for a quiet hideaway.
The facilities are amazing. The park and the spa are breathtaking.

FranceThe hotel has beautiful grounds, but it seriously lacks in safety and customer service. During our stay, we faced a distressing incident that made me feel completely helpless. My 67-year-old mother slipped and fell by the pool because there was no anti-slip coating. There were no staff or cameras or any survellance near the pool. There was no one else in the pool, no staff to assure the security, no surveillance, no other visitors. The door to the pool was shut. When I tried to help her get up she lost consciousness. She was in my hands and I didn’t know what to do. I shouted for help for about 10-15 minutes, no one heard anything. I was crying and didn’t know what to do. Luckily she got her consciousness back. I was able to bring her chair and accompany to the hotel room. When we asked the hotel staff for assistance, they were dismissive and did not provide transportation to the hospital to check if my mum had brain concussion or hematomas. They also claimed that the hotel had no insurance for such incidents. The person responsible for the spa area said: “it was her fault that she fell down, we have nothing to do with it”. The manager was not there for two days and did not address our concerns when contacted. This lack of care and response from the hotel was shocking. This experience shows that the hotel has major issues with safety and customer service. Future guests should be aware of these problems before deciding to stay here. The problem we faced could happen to anyone.
It was beautiful, aesthetic, cozy and clean

United KingdomI thought the service could be better. The staff were polite but not particularly friendly. Also whilst our room was lovely the front door was in the reception area so it felt awkward going in and out of the room.
Beautiful, serene location - a great place to relax and very peaceful. The spa / pool facilities were very new, clean and nice setting. The decor of the hotel and the room furnishings were impressive.
