Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsRooms are small and a bit dated. Beds are really hard and gave me a back pain. Hotel does not serve lunch nor dinner. We had a room with a tiny terrace on the backside, a bit overpriced for what it was.
Nice hotel at walking distance from Roussillon city centre. Pool area is very nicely located in the forest with relaxing loungers. You can order a small selection of wine and soft drinks at the reception. Small fridge in the rooms and free parking. Nice breakfast and reasonably priced. Roussillon is a very nice town in a beautiful area, would come back!

FinlandThe rooms lack amenities such as coffee machines or kettles, but are otherwise very nice.
A lovely hotel with a tranquil pool area, friendly staff, clean rooms (with recently renovated bathrooms) and a fantastic French breakfast. The location is only a short walk from the center of Roussillon, and the hotel has a large private parking lot, which is super convenient if you’re traveling by car.

CanadaWould have loved to had a coffee machine in room as we did not have breakfast included in our room price and the town is a ten minute walk uphill.
Peaceful surroundings and pool.

United StatesLes Sables d'Ocre offers an excellent location in the lovely village of Roussillon. The rooms are comfortable, clean and quiet and some with terraces or patios. The pool and outside grounds are lovely. The breakfast buffet is great, and you can eat on an outside terrace. There is a bar that serves drinks in the afternoon. There is no restaurant for lunch or dinner, but it is a short walk to the village center with many wonderful restaurants. There is ample parking. The staff is friendly, helpful, and professional.

United StatesThe door to the balcony has a very tricky locking mechanism. We needed to get help from the woman at the front desk to lock it.
The breakfast was very good. The pool and surroundings are beautiful. It's stunning at night with the lighted globes in the trees and on the ground. Loved that the hotel is a ten-minute walk to Rousillon center.

IrelandI would have liked the option to have breakfast included when booking via booking.com as it ended up adding quite a lot on to our bill and we would have liked to have been able to budget for it in advance.
We stayed here for three nights and were so glad we booked it. The hotel is easy to get to and there is ample parking outside. The carpark is locked overnight, but you can still get cars in/out with the keyfob from your room if needed. Check-in was very easy and we were early so they very kindly allowed us to use the pool while we waited for our room. The lady who checked us in couldn't have been nicer. She came out to the pool area to tell us when our room was ready, then brought us up and explained how everything worked in the hotel. All the staff we encountered were absolutely lovely. The reception closes from 8pm to 8am but they made that very clear and show you how to enter/exit the hotel during these times as that area is closed off. The room itself was wonderful. Really charming and so clean. A comfortable bed and the hotel was really quiet so we got a great night's sleep. The air-conditioning was just right and kept us cool. The bathroom is really modern with a fantastic shower. There is also a separate little room for the toilet. It sounds bizarre to comment on it but the flooring is so soft - you will see what I mean! Our room had a small little balcony with a table and two chairs which was a nice bonus. There is also a safe, plenty of storage space for clothes etc and a small fridge. The pool area was lovely. It wasn't too busy during our stay and the water temperature was lovely - refreshing without being too cold. There are deck chairs but also a lovely covered over seating area if you'd like shade from the sun. The location was great. It was about a ten minute walk from the village of Roussillon. It has footpath the whole way in. There is a small supermarket and are plenty of places to eat / get ice-cream. There are lovely views from the village too. It had a nice charm to it. Breakfast in the hotel was tasty. A good range of things to eat - both hot and cold options and we were nicely filled each morning.
