How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe comfort, attention to detail, the welcome, the indoor and outdoor interior design, the breakfast, and the sight seeing recommendations, were all excellent! We highly recommend the stay. (The boiled egg whisperer of the south of France).

Verified reviewWe loved everything about our stay at the Logement Onze and we strongly recommend it to anyone who wishes a quiet and beautiful environment to discover this spectacular region of France. Ed and Fred were the perfect hosts! We requested a cold cut platter upon our arrival for diner there as we had traveled all day and we were served a perfect meal with a delicious introduction to the Corbières wine. Logement Onze is a very comfortable étape, beautifully decorated with charming hosts! Breakfast was plentiful and delicious; the price was right. We will return!
Nothing. Please don't change anything! All was perfect!

Verified reviewThere is no doubt at all that the Logement Onze deserves its excellent reviews as the property is quirky & the hosts Ed & Fred are extremely friendly & hospitable.
My issue is with either the property or booking.com, I am not sure which as even now nearly a month after our stay both sides appear to be blaming each other. Our room was sold to us by Booking.com as having a garden view or at worse a mountain view depending on which part of the description is read. The reality is it has a view from the bedroom of a roof and nothing more. The room description implies that each room has a refrigerator when in fact three rooms on the upper level share one fridge in a common area. The property description states that there is a BBQ for guests to use, what the description doesnt state is that there is a 9.50 euro charge for using the BBQ. Lastly it does not state in the property description that there is a charge of 1 euro for each & every small bottle of water you use or you must bring your own or drink from the tap. None of the above issues take away from the fact that Ed & Fred run an excellent property that is no doubt worth its high ratings. Our issue is that a month after staying neither the property or booking.com have officially apologised for mis-describing the property facilities & extra charges for some of those facilities.
First of all, I am happy that you experienced our attitude as friendly and hospitable, for us it was nothing more than a professional attitude towards you. Unfortunately, we have no good words to say about your behavior during your 48-hour stay. Up until now we have received thousands of nice and sweet guests, but unfortunately you have managed to make us doubt our work and whether it is actually all worth it. Fortunately, we have had all kinds of nice and sweet guests after your stay and that strengthens us. Booking has a complete summary of your behavior. We will not respond to this review substantively, but I can say that after receiving your 'complaint' we took immediate action to Booking and we have no further influence on the process from there. You will have to handle that yourself.

Verified reviewA fabulous place to stay. Ed and Fred are first class hosts. We stayed for two nights at the end of June. Despite the property being in a very quiet rural location there are restaurants a short drive away. Ed and Fred gave us some very good choices. One advantage is that the property has a fridge and microwave together with plates and utensils for guests so you can have your own meal at the property. There is also a small, but perfectly stocked, honesty bar. On one of the evenings we were able to eat our own meal at the property in the beautiful courtyard overlooking the perfect swimming pool. No need to wash up the dishes this was done by Ed and Fred. We stayed in one of the bedrooms which are large and decorated and furnished to a high standard. The bed was very comfortable. The air conditioning was silent and worked perfectly. The bathroom was also a good size with plenty of room in the shower. It was great to have a Nespresso coffee machine in the room. As mentioned Ed and Fred are great hosts. They are so proud of their beautiful home. We phoned ahead to give an estimated time of arrival, we always try to do this out of courtesy. On arrival we were met and directed to a parking place next to the rear entrance of the property. It was just a few steps and we were inside the stunning pool courtyard. We were then given a tour of their home including some of its history as we were taken to our room. The entrance hallway and staircase is simply stunning. The courtyard has plenty of sunloungers, tables and chairs both in and out of the shade. The pool is heated and spotlessly clean. Pool towels are provided. The breakfasts can be eaten inside or in the courtyard. The breakfast is wonderful including home made juices, cereals, yoghurt, breads, meats, cheeses and cooked eggs to order. A variety of freshly made tea and coffee. The wifi was perfect, stable and quick. They were able to give lots of advice on places to go and to eat at.
Nothing comes to mind.

Verified reviewThis was a veritable Oasis for us. We were treated every morning to fresh ground coffee, freshly squeezed juices of different varieties, a Dutch breakfast with varied cheeses, meats, fruit and fresh yogurt. We arrived from our meandering to a welcoming environment every day as we stayed for a full 9 nights. We miss the location and our hosts. We will certainly choose it again without hesitation!

Verified reviewEd & Fred are the perfect hosts, they made us feel so welcome. They renovated their beautiful house in the heart of the village. Too bad we couldn't enjoy the garden due to the cold weather. Breakfast is superb, and parking is safe and easy.

Verified reviewAmazing experience. The house is beautifully decorated, and the room is big and comfortable. We had a good sleep in that comfy bed without any noise from the outside because the town is tranquil and charming. Ed and Fred are great hosts, and their homemade breakfast is fantastic! They recommended several restaurants in the other towns to have dinner (go early or make a reservation even if it's low season), and parking space is available in the street. We felt at home and would love to return
