How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewVery beautiful place. We had mountains view and it is wonderful. There is a road near, but not noisy. It was very warm in a room, usually I’m cold in winter in hotels , but here not. Also the owner tried to help us when we left there on Saturday evening without food , thank you !
Very small shower. I have size S, but it was difficult to use it. It would be great if is possible to have a teapot in a room or a bottle of water. And just to inform (not apply for hotel) - if you come on weekends, better to have food and water with you as it will de nearly nothing of nothing at all opened
Thank you for choosing Auberge Catalane and for your kind comments. Regarding dinner, we can usually provide it if you give us at least 24 hours notice. Isabel and Jordi

Verified reviewVery lovely staff. We had breakfast and supper on-site and it was some of best food we’ve had on our three month holiday! Great stay!
What a pleasure to have provided you with such a good experience. We hope to see you again at the Auberge Catalane even if it is not easy. Isabel and Jordi

Verified reviewThe staff was very friendly - the owner even printed menu in our native languages (Polish and Italian)! The food really high-quality (including home-made yoghurt one day). The place was very cosy and fully equipped. The perfect location to start wonderful hikes and rest well after returning.
We had an issue with too much heat at night (possibly coming from other rooms). It was easily solvable by opening the window for a while.
A real pleasure to have had you as our guests at the Auberge Catalane. We hope to see you again in the future. Isabel and Jordi

Verified reviewA warm welcome from the host and staff who spoke excellent English and were very helpful. An quaint old fashioned building. Excellent breakfast with fresh orange juice and homemade yoghurt. We had dinner.. limited menu in traditional French style. Only available weekends and no real local alternatives.
We would have liked a kettle and tea coffee available in our room. The dinner menu had no vegetarian options, and we forgot that the norm in France is to leave meat half cooked and bloody so didn't manage to eat the duck Not very accessible building ..no lift. Room on second floor so lots of stairs to climb
We were delighted to be able to accommodate you at the Auberge Catalane and thank you for your choice and your comments. I would not like to forget that at your dinner and when we noticed that the magret was not to your wife's taste, we offered her to choose another alternative and your wife declined our offer. We always strive to make sure that our guests are satisfied to the best of our ability. Isabel and Jordi

For a couple of days respite from the bustle of a city it was a great spot, any longer may have been tedious.

Verified reviewArriving at Latour de Carol at a time when everything was closed, we would have gone hungry, if our kind hosts had not provided us an excellent meal when the restaurant was officially closed. We remain most grateful for this act of kindness. Everything else was of a similar high standard. The location is equally exceptional. Arriving by public transport from Barcelona, we did have to face a 20 minute walk from the station. However, the bus stop for the onward journey to Prada and Perpignan was very convienient.

Thank you for choosing Auberge Catalane for your stay. Regarding your dinner, we regret that our restaurant, as explained on our Booking page, can only be open on weekends. Verified reviewWe stayed here after taking the little yellow train from Villefranche de Confluent. It took us 15-20minutes (including some photo stops)to walk with backpacks, it wasn’t steep. Jordi was so welcoming and friendly. We had lunch in the attached restaurant and it was simply amazing! The village and surrounds are stunning. The building itself is even more gorgeous then the pics.
That we couldn’t stay longer!
What a joy to be able to host a family coming from the other side of the world. We hope you enjoy your trip very much and we hope to see you again someday. Isabel and Jordi
