Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomEasy check-in. Really pleased to see a three course vegetarian menu offer. Plenty of breakfast choice. Enjoyed the wine with our meal. Comfortable bed. Easy level cycling to Le Crotoy and the nature reserves.

United KingdomIn the absence of air conditioning a fan would have been useful. Room was very dark as too hot to open blinds, shower area could do with refurbishment.
Very handy for travelling to the Channel tunnel and the food was excellent.

United KingdomI cannot think of anything really. We chose this auberge for its location and its traditional feel and it was exactly as we had expected.
I am gluten and dairy free and the staff went to a lot of trouble to provide gf bread, goat's cheese and unsweetened soya milk for my breakfast. There was also bacon and scrambled egg, in addition to cold meat and cheese, as well as yogurts and the usual croissants etc.

United KingdomThe dinner was good but not brilliant, and it took over 45 minutes to produce the dessert on the menu. No reason given or apologies, but it made for an unacceptably long meal. The advertised rate for the room was considerably less than the Booking.com rate, we noticed. For what the hotel offered at 3*, it seemed pretty costly for bed, dinner, breakfast but I recognise that this was mid-August and people generally seemed happy.
We had stayed there before so we knew what to expect. The room was clean and comfortable though a tightish squeeze. Parking good. Quality of dinner and choice of menu less good than last time, but the restaurant was very busy, live music, lots of locals, busy time of year etc. Has there been a change of management?

United KingdomThe room was very hot even though the radiator was switched off. It was extremely noisy and I had a disturbed night's sleep every time what I think was the boiler coming on. This must have been somewhere below us.
The location is ideal being close to the Parc de Marquenterre. The meal in the restaurant was good and service was quick despite them being very busy.

United KingdomThe one breakfast we had was rather disappointing, (at 13 euros each,) as there seemed to be very little choice left when we arrived just after 9.00, (breakfast supposedly ends at 10.) There was almost NO fresh fruit, for example, just a sad-looking couple of oranges and very little choice of cereals - no muesli, for example. The room also looked like a battleground as no table-clearing had been done when we arrived and it was hard to find a table, although one hard-pressed member of staff arrived and started rushing about to make us a cleared space. The dinners, as already stated , were good when they arrived but it took us ages to get even a carafe of fresh water both evenings. Over-all, we, (2 elderly women in our late 70s,) did not really feel welcomed at this auberge and we had a strong impression of staff who were over-stretched and all having to do too much in too many areas. When we needed to pay our bill on the final evening because we had to leave early, before breakfast next morning, to get to our Eurotunnel crossing, we were made to feel we were really rather tiresome. Then when we came to leave at 8 am there were no staff about and we appeared to be locked in to our section of the building. There was no-one to leave our room key with and we only got out by un-zipping a back shutter-door to the car park!
We enjoyed the food for the 2 evening meals we had there - but we did have to wait a l o n g time for it on both evenings! Our twin room was very compact but adequate and well equipped with charging points and individual reading lights etc.
