How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The breakfast buffet was extensive and delicious - loved the focus on fresh, local products. The breads were so good, delicious with butter alone or with the various jams, cheeses, charcuterie. Hotel was well situated for our visit to Lac de Madine and various WWI memorial sites. The room was clean, modern and well appointed. We ate dinner several times at the hotel restaurant and were impressed by the quality of the food and wine and the attentiveness of the staff. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The annexe seemed more than 200 metres away however we did walk to the main hotel. The breakfast just didn’t suit my taste but I’m sure that others would have liked it.
Quiet location, staff were friendly and the food in their restaurant was really good.

Hotel is a bit spread out (we stayed in the annexe) - but that was only a minor inconvenience.
Lovely modern well furnished room. Hotel has an excellent restaurant - we didn’t have dinner as we arrived late having eaten earlier but did have some cheese and wine as well as an excellent breakfast.

It was a hot night, but with the window open I was able to cool the room down. The room was relatively small, but we expected this. This is not a dislike, more of a 'good to know'. The hotel is the only entertainment in walking distance and whilst the bar and the restaurant were fantastic, they were a little on the pricey side, but that said, this was incredible Michelin level food in a much more relaxed convivial setting,
I am going to start this review first by thanking the hotel and booking.com for accommodating us last minute when our booked accommodation turned out to be an empty building site. We received a warm welcome after a frustrating couple of hours, and we're accommodated in the annex which was a short, level, walk away. The village is small but the bar and restaurant were very busy and it was a lovely vibrant evening with incredible food and wine, great service and a relaxed atmosphere. We had our table for the whole evening and our orders came out steadily and all at the same time. Leaving us time to talk and enjoy the singer in the bar in the next room (divided by glass so very much felt part of the fun). It was lovely seeing families of three or four generations together having a great evening, babes in arms through to great grandparents. The room was comfortable with plenty of sockets, air conditioning, and toilet seperate to shower room which is a great way to arrange an en suite. The staff were fabulous, and afterwards I picked up a brochure and saw that it was family enterprise.

No lift to higher floors and no secure parking although public parking was right outside.

Air con in room wasn't (seemingly) very efficient
Lovely restaurant set in village. Sat outside on the terraced area and was very nice atmosphere. Was in annex which was comfortable and clean with communal area downstairs

Lovely welcome, comfortable and clean room. Very good restaurant - dinner and breakfast were both excellent. There is definitely a skilled chef or chefs at work.

Terrace is overlooking a road. Building work ongoing to expand with a spa : will be good for the future but inconvenient during our stay
