Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

A little gem of a B&B nestled in the French countryside. A lovely place to stay where you can experience a more relaxed way of life for a few days. The hosts were incredibly warm welcoming. The B&B was spotless and beautifully decorated. A wonderful mix of stylish and homely. Communal coffee and tea facilities for guests along with water was a welcome option after a long day sightseeing. Jo prepared us a table d’hote for our first night which was the best meal we had all holiday. We would stay again without hesitation.

We originally booked into this establishment for one night but were so enchanted by what we found that we added a second! British couple Josephine and Ian bought this old fortified farm in 2020. At the moment it consists of three bedrooms (all named after varieties of pears) each lovingly renovated and worthy of a five-star hotel in terms of luxury and refinement. Apart from bedroom basics – super-comfortable beds and bedding, beautifully appointed modern bathroom – the room itself, like the dining room downstairs had been decorated with an attention to detail and an eye for beauty that continued to delight. Fresh flowers, delicately worked linens, fine china – it was a perfect example of what the French call ‘l’art de vivre’. Having eaten a wonderful meal the first night, we chose to dine in a second time. Josephine’s cooking is cordon bleu standard and each dish is a pleasure to the eye as well as the palate. The value for money is unbeatable and the cherry on top is the welcome from the warm and gracious hosts. One of our best travel experiences.

FranceThat we didn't stay longer!
This is simply one of the best places to stay in France, and we have stayed in many. Josephine and Ian have created a haven in the countryside; peaceful, wonderfully furnished, utter comfort (a bed so luxurious I didn't want to leave it!), supper and breakfast beautifully presented, and all for a price that makes you smile. Everything has been though of; a lovely comfortable and quality bathroom, great WiFi, room in the garden to stretch your legs and see the history of the buildings. It's just perfect and reflects the labour of love they have spent on making this such a special place. Do not hesitate to go any stay, for as long as you can!

This is a wonderful place to stay. The welcome was warm, the room beautifully decorated. Spotlessly clean and every detail has been thought through to perfection. A little bottle of Vin Rose on arrival was a lovely touch and breakfast was superb with fresh bread, pastries, good coffee and home made jams. The courtyard with barn for parking is serene and well maintained. It is a little out of the way but well well worth a visit. A high spot in our French holiday. Ian and Josephine are great hosts. Highly recommended.

United KingdomIan & Josephine were both so lovely and helpful, we came to France for a friend’s wedding and couldn’t have wished for a better place to stay. The room was so spacious, had everything you needed and more, with a few added extras too! We had a couple of drinks in the garden, and it’s the perfect setting for a relaxing drink after a day of exploring the area. Jo did the most amazing 3 course dinner! 10/10 would recommend!

Pretty much everything! A fantastic and ongoing restoration of a lovely old farmhouse in a peaceful setting. Spacious, beautifully furnished room with a huge comfortable bed. An amazing home cooked evening meal from Jo with a fabulous breakfast the next morning including lots of home made delights. We loved sitting in the garden with a glass of wine after a long day travelling. Probably the best value for money of anywhere that we have stayed. Our hosts could not have been more welcoming.

A dream stay. We experienced excellent communication and wonderful hospitality in this glorious, private property in Juignac. Jo and her husband offer 2 rooms within their traditional French home just a 15 min drive from Aubeterre. Our room was at the back of the house and very private. It was beautifully appointed with a very comfortable bed, good quality bedding, and lovely views of the courtyard. The entire property was spotless, and design wise hits the brief successfully mingling French chic with a modern twists most of us love, (most evident in the huge bathroom that had a gorgeous bath and large, powerful modern shower with sunlight filling every crevice of the room. We had had a long journey and Jo was so accommodating with our check in time ensuring we had a delicious home cooked meal waiting for us in her (my dream!) kitchen and we finished off desert outside in the lush back garden. For those that are interested we had a 3 course meal, that included a main of beautifully prepared fresh fish for just 25E each, and this included a chilled bottle of white. Breakfast (included in the reasonable room rate) was a feast too with lots of options & proper coffee! We ate very well indeed. We had such a warm welcome, from the moment of booking, through to the welcome bottle of rose & baked biscuits in our room, right up to checking out. We felt very comfortable, it felt like staying a a good friends house, but with more privacy (!) and we left feeling like we had made a new friend. If you are looking for a place to reset, relax and just enjoy what France has to offer - Stay here.
