We chose accommodation due it's proximity to family. It was perfect. Breakfast was included. Weather was extremely hot so we made use of the pool. Also a dinner was held in their courtyard as part of the celebrations. Lots to see in the area.

The room we stayed in was large and clean The pool was lovely The location was great for us with a wonderful chateau and options of eatery just across the street

Staff left at 5pm and 3x groups of guests, with reservations, turned up after this time and had to leave as could not check in as no staff present. We reserved the spa however it was all closed, the jacuzzi and sauna were turned off and there were no staff to assist with this or to have treatments as planned. We were told the resteraunt and bar were closed on our arrival and made to go elsewhere for dinner

A beautiful property in a peaceful location. Quiet and very peaceful. The room, bathroom, bed, fixtures and fittings were excellent. The manager was friendly and helpful.

We were disappointed that, having pre-booked dinner, we were told on arrival that the kitchen was closed (the chef was unwell) which meant we had to find somewhere to eat in the village (it is more of a hamlet) as we didn't wish to drive any further. As it happened we did secure a table and had a pleasant meal which we enjoyed but an earlier notification of the closure would have been appreciated.

The hotel is easy to find in a small village with lovely views of a chateau. The hosts are lovely and speak excellent English. The rooms are very spacious, quiet, comfortable and well appointed. The restaurant serves excellent food at a reasonable price and offers plenty of choice. Breakfast is alo very good. We enjoyed a lovely wander around the chateau after dinner

A very pleasant location directly adjacent to an old medieval village. The breakfast was excellent with hot food and an extensive buffet. We had booked dinner but missed this due to late arrival due to bad weather so cannot comment. The menu did however look inpressive with local produce.

The logi was unmanned when wea arrived and while the staff gave direction on how to get to our room it took us a while and a phone call to find. Also the room was very cold when we arrived as no heating had been switch on.

Lovely peaceful location, there was a restaurant and free parking. Room was nice with a fantastic shower.

You are in the middle of nowhere. There is a pizza and thai restaurant close by but both were shut and had there not been the restaurant we would have been stuck for something to eat after a long drive.

    Location

The area around the bottom of the shower both inside and outside was covered in mould.

The location was nice, although it/they did not take advantage of the views. The room was clean and attempts were made to make it comfortable during the extreme and unexpected hot weather.

It was a let down from the pictures already at arrival. The garden was in need of TLC, the entrance hall was full of clutter as was the pool area.

    Location.

No Wi-if despite advertising it. Quite a few cobwebs-needed a longer feather duster!

Both breakfast and dinners were truly excellent - even the coffee was exceptional. Wines were lovely. The location opposite a medieval castle, in a tiny hamlet on the GR65, is out of this world. The room was well set up, with good beds and a fabulous bathroom with powerful shower.. It was very clean. We could sit outside on quality garden furnture in the sun and feel that yes, this was the good life. The reason it didn't meet expectations, as stated above, wasn't that it wasnt good, but that most reviews were absolute raves that made this auberge sound like the most idyllic retreat in France.. And ours could easily have said the same! But...

There was a notice outside saying they were short-staffed, a big problem in this area, which may be why we were told they were not serving when we arrived at 3pm. Fine, not even a drink? No, we are eating lunch. OK, so we sat down to wait. A nice barman relented and came to give us a round of drinks but the initial reception was not welcoming at all. We sensed a lot of stress and tried not to be a bother - next.day when we turned up at our dinner time and were told to go away for 15 minutes, we did - but when we asked if they would call a taxi the.next day and was told no, they didn't do that, I.wondered what we had done to offend. It was really uncomfortable. The barman/waiter was lovely and the breakfast lady also but maybe the woman in charge, who I.think was also cooking, just had too much to.do. Also, what happened to the spa? No sign of that. Btw.the WiFi is really weak in the rooms but we were expecting that. You don't go to beautiful old farmhouses in the middle of nowhere for the WiFi.
