How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThis is a lovely guest house surrounded by the owner’s winery. You may see the very friendly owner running with his dog in the mornings. The winery, Cazes, makes some excellent wines available to you at the hotel and at the owner’s restaurant nearby, Table de Thomas, which we also visited and where we had a lovely evening and meal. There are only five guest rooms so it’s very tranquil. The grounds are lovely and the pool is a great bonus. There is also an outside seating area which we took advantage of while having a bottle of wine from the winery. The breakfast is very good and the bread, from a local boulangerie, is the best I ever had in France, therefore in my life! The staff are excellent and went out of their way to help me when I left some items behind. The bed is very comfortable and our room was very spacious. You do have to drive everywhere but that said, there are great places to drive very close by, including oceanfront. All in all, we loved our stay in this beautiful property.
There is nothing we did not like. Use Waze for GPS as Google will send you around in circles. We found out when we called the hotel to say we could not find them!

Verified reviewI like that it is distant and a small property, they have only 5 rooms. It is well designed and has a winery. The room is very spacious.
The breakfast was very basic. The room contains stairs, if you have little children it could be an issue. We had to make check in before 19:00.

Verified reviewProblems with the single staff person - not really suited for a job in hospitality. My husband and I run a tourist accommodation villa and are well aware of the characteristics of a good manager/staff person. Use of the spa amenities was also very limited - neither ourselves nor the other guests could not get the sauna to turn on, the hot tub was not operational, and we were denied access to the steam room in the afternoon. Moreover, I sustained a large second-degree burn on the back of my right lower leg after coming into contact with an exposed metal pipe as I sat down on the bench in the dimly lit steam room. A small detail that affected our stay - we were told we could tea or coffee at any time but the staff person insisted on locking the milk that we were using in the fridge……

Verified reviewBeautiful rooms - clean and good size. Really comfortable bed. The whole place felt so welcoming and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit.
Maybe the pool could've been cleaner but it was windy so difficult to keep on top of I guess.

Verified reviewWe really liked the fact that we were staying outside Perpignan because we did not find the city very appealing. We loved the spaciousness of Mas Latour Lavail and the friendliness and attentiveness of Aurélie, who looked after us at breakfast. We also liked the availability of a selection of wine at the honesty bar.
Nothing.

Verified reviewSmall hotel (just five rooms) in a beautifully refurbished building, providing a very stylish yet cosy atmosphere. Very friendly reception and service. Honesty bar with good wines, so self catering in a way (one of those typical small hotel benefits)!
Location is not very inviting and also quite inconvenient: before booking we had planned to walk into town for dinner (which seemed perfectly doable from a distance perspective), but that definitely is not advisable. Window in our room could not be opened, so no fresh air during the night. Breakfast could really have been more generous to do justice to the hotel (and the room rate).

Verified reviewBeautifully decorated hotel, newly refurbished to high standards, the bed was very comfortable, fresh, crispy linen, the staff was very friendly and accommodating. It was a nice touch to “feel at home” policy that we could serve ourselves with the local very tasty wines.
It is s bit isolated. So, without car it is impossible to get anywhere but it is also s plus if you are looking for a pure relaxation and an idyllic spot.

Verified reviewThe property was fantastic only 5 rooms very bespoke and comfortable the staff were really good and helpful in every respect and we would not hesitate to come back
No barbecue seen but as weather not great did not impact us much but would be a great addition to the bar facilities if we fancied a night in with friends
