Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNothing that I would change with the property or the hosts. Be aware that as with many other rural locations in France, restaurants close on a Monday evening, so organise your dining arrangements in advance.
Everything! Excellent hosts - friendly but not overbearing; excellent advice on local attractions, parking and restaurants. A wonderful house - charming, authentic and spotlessly clean. Very comfortable beds with crisp, quality linen. A great French breakfast, with a home made surprise each day. Facilities were perfect - games, books, tourist brochures, access to a large fridge, coffee and tea making facilities. The property has a large, shared area where guests can prepare food and eat should they wish. The swimming pool was again spotless and with no smell of chlorine. The weather was below average for the time of year but the pool temperature remained at a comfortable 28' C. There are some lovely spots to sit by the river and read. A very relaxing location situated in the middle of many of the Loire Valley's best known attractions.

This beautiful property in the Loire region was exceptional. We were very warmly welcomed by Laurent and Marie Hélène who gave us good advice on things to visit. The rooms were perfect for a family with 2 young kids, quiet, clean, comfortable, with a fan in summer. They even provide fridge space to store our food and facilities (plates etc) to have our picnic on site. The pool was brilliant and we were able to fish on the property! And they have a nice children's area with books and games to keep younger ones busy. We will be back!

The property is located in a quiet area surrounded by fields and next to the river. I like the property for its authentic features with it being 16th century mill conversion. It has beautiful gardens and a large swimming pool. The property feels very homely and the owner was fantastic. they made us all feel welcome and they were very attentive, friendly and knowledgable about the area. The property is also within short walking distance to a vineyard with cave aged wines and hand dug by 10th generations. We truly enjoyed our stay in Moulin De Bacchus and we will definitely be going back.

United KingdomA very pretty property with unique and interesting features as it is an old water mill. We used the pool, the two outdoor seating areas the lounge and loved the restful sound of the river flowing. But the best part is the exceptional hospitality of Helen and Laurent who were so welcoming and helpful throughout our stay offering their advice and local knowledge. Cannot praise highly enough.

GermanyWe booked our room spontaneously since we were on a private “Tour de France” and decided from day to day where to go. Marie-Hélène and Laurent were fantastic hosts - they made us feeling welcome and at home. They provided us with tons of information about activities in the larger area. Our apartment was huge- two bedrooms and a bathroom with build in cabinets, even too huge for two people. The breakfast was typical French (which ist quite sweet), but our hosts made us everyday scrambled eggs and we got home made yoghurt, and a surprise like a piece of cake or pancakes. The house is from the 17th century as far as I remember, it was an old mill and it is renovated with a lot of love and a good eye for details. A little library with books and games for kids was located in the middle floor. Since we don’t speak French we had no problems with communication in English. We didn’t use the pool but it was clean and other guests enjoyed it. If we are going again to the Loire region, we will for sure return. I got a piece of France which was like in my romantic imagination. Good job and good luck to the hosts. Thank you, vielen Dank and merci!

United StatesEverything was great, can not add anything here.
It was incredible stay and I could not wish for more. Place is beautiful itself and has everything that you might need: spacious room, comfortable bed, big bathroom with nice shower. But I would like to point to one huge advantage: owners. I can not remember any other place where people would be so nice and kind. They helped us a lot not only with small recommendations like local restaurants or best local winery. But they also cared about us and always checked weather and gave best advices about day planing. I would recommend this place to my closest friends and would love to go there again. And if I could give 100 out of 10 I would do it.

We spent a week in this beautiful house. Our house was nice, all facilities are great. A lot of space for 5 persons. Very comfortable. Surrounding was great. Kids play with ball - thank you for this. The hosts were great, informative and helpful. Pool was a little bit cold. The location was great, pretty close to most attractions on the Loire Valley.

United StatesWhat a beautiful setting this B&B is in! It is an old mill with documentation at least back to 1620, on a stream of water along the back of the property that provides “music” to the place. Our wonderful hosts Laurent and Marie-Helene were so attentive to our needs, and we enjoyed exchanging our stories with them. Breakfast was very good, with homemade yogurt, jams, and a different sweet treat every day. The accommodations were clean, quiet and comfortable. Two new bottles of water showed up in our room everyday, and towels were changed after two days. There is a pristinely clean swimming pool and surrounding patio, perfect for unwinding at the end of the day. There is ample parking inside the gate that encloses the property. The location was perfect, out in the country but in close proximity to attractions in the Loire region. We would definitely stay here again!

IsraelThe only very minor comment is scarcity of power outlets in the room. This doesn't prevent you from charging your phone or laptop - just unplug one of the bedstand lamps...
An old former watermill with a picturesque river flowing through the grounds, with meadows and trees. Right in the middle of Vouvray (the wine appelation - the town of Vouvray is 12 minutes away by car), easy driving distance to Amboise, Tours, Blois, and every chateau on the Loire. Spacious room with a comfortable bed, equally spacious bathroom with modern shower. Wonderful hosts who provide you with every bit of information, maps, guides, restaurant recommendations. Excellent French breakfast with additional "surprises" every morning. Heated pool. A library room with books, games for kids, TV. Excellent WiFi and easy parking on the grounds. If you are OK with driving everywhere and not being in the middle of a city it's a real gem.
