Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

This hotel is beautiful, fantastic setting on the river & wonderful rooms. A relaxing atmosphere & everything you want for you stay. The Hotel Restaurant is superb and the staff very friendly & knowledgeable. Delicious surprise menu and it really deserves the Michelin star it has. The other bistro restaurants they suggested are equally good and staff very helpful & polite.

United KingdomBreakfast arrangements were not the best and at £22 per person, expensive for options available.Really need to consider buffet style arrangements, at least for continental breakfast, drinks etc.

United KingdomNothing, it was all perfect. The children’s menu wasn’t ideal for our kids but that says more about them and their fussy ways than the hotel!!
This is a gorgeous hotel. The family room was perfect, with two separate sections of the room overlooking the water wheel. The decor is beautiful and the staff were lovely. The restaurant is so lovely with huge picture windows and a terrace next to the river. We ate in the Michelin star restaurant within the hotel, which was very nice but there are plenty of other restaurants very nearby. I’d love to come back here, it’s so calm and relaxing and lovely in a lovely little town.

United KingdomIt was all wonderful. The reception staff could be a little more proactive and service oriented given the calibre of the hotel.
Beautiful postion on the river, the room in the tower has an idyllic view overlooking the mill. Clean, newly refurbished rooms, tastefully done...just the right side of "modern". The restaurant was worth booking for one night

United KingdomThere wasn’t anything we didn’t like.
From the moment we arrived, it was clear this hotel offered something special. The building itself exudes timeless charm—rich in character, with architectural details that speak to its storied past. Yet, what truly impressed us was how seamlessly this heritage has been paired with modern sophistication. Every facility, from the rooms to the communal spaces, has been thoughtfully updated to an outstanding standard, striking the perfect balance between classic elegance and contemporary comfort. The service throughout our stay was nothing short of superb. Staff were attentive without being intrusive, consistently warm, professional, and genuinely committed to making our experience memorable. It’s rare to encounter such a high level of hospitality that feels both polished and personal. This was more than just a hotel stay—it was a class experience from start to finish. Whether you’re seeking a romantic getaway, a refined retreat, or simply a place that understands the art of true hospitality, this gem delivers in every way.

United KingdomThe off-site restaurant-Le Fil Au Temps- did not have air conditioning or even a ceiling fan and it was a sweltering evening. The terrace didn’t afford any respite either as there was direct sunlight under the umbrellas and straight into the tables. We felt the main course was mediocre although we enjoyed the starter and dessert. We had an unfortunate breakfast service too. The young waiter brought everything out together including hot scrambled eggs. We asked for these to be brought out after yoghurt and pastries and he just couldn’t understand our request turning to another member of staff. It really took the edge off a relaxing breakfast overlooking the weir.
Wonderful location and hotel is very elegant throughout. We loved our dual aspect room. The bed and linens were top quality and exceptionally comfortable. The reception Stagg were warm, friendly, welcoming and very helpful
