The hotel is not near anything, except walks in the forest. There is a restaurant on site with set menus for 40 or 50 euros per person. You would need a car to get to Saint Zacharie.

The room was very neat and comfortable. It was easy to find the hotel. I only spoke to the staff for a moment but they seemed friendly.

We had a family room next to a waterfall in a room than can be described as something out of a fairy tale.

I booked the night of 2 July 25 at the Moulin de la Sambuc at St Zacharie via Booking.com. I was asked when I planned to arrive (normal from 18.00) and I requested arrival 17.00-18.00, and this was confirmed. However, it was 18.15 before anyone opened the hotel, on a day that had been, and still was, 35C. No apology or explanation given. There was no wifi available in the room. The tap for the shower was broken, although it was still able to get it to work. The room was in a building with very thick walls and in an exceptional heatwave/canicule, it was necessary to leave the door open and the fan on, else the heat was unbearable. The canicule was unfortunate but the room was unsuitable for use in such a hot spell. I did not realise that the prepayment did not include breakfast. I have arranged to pay the extras. However, the breakfast was not of choice, some brioche and toast. The lady who served it (the proprietor lady was not seen that morning) did not say it had not been paid for. It was also served outside and in that few minutes I had several mosquito bites. It was also really quite expensive at 75E for the room alone, for what amounted to a one-star (if that) hotel. If I made a recommendation, it would be find somewhere else to stay, anywhere else. I do not usually comment but I am only doing so to deter others from the same experience.

The bathroom was clean and well-equipped. That's about it.

Arrived within check-in time and no one to receive us. They sent a couple of photos that same day and basically told us to find our way. Since we needed guidance we had to search for the owners and were received with complaints that we were trespassing on private property. The lady owner led us to our room and was quick to leave. Not nice at all. Basic room, dusty and with spiderwebs. Worse of all was the mattress of the beds. You could feel the springs sticking in your back. We had to sleep on the pillows and, of course, hardly slept at all. Also the beds are very noisy. The toilet makes a horrible long noise every time you flush it, so you can't flush it in the middle of the night or you'll wake up your partner. There's some kind of noisy engine working the entire night. Right outside the room was a small lake-kind of thing full of rotten water so there's mosquitos everywhere and no nets on windows or door. No protection for the bathtub so you wet the bathroom when you take a bath. Since the lady owner was quick to leave she didn't give us the internet password. We didn't want to disturb then again so we sent a message asking for the password. I'm still waiting for a reply. They were quick to criticize us for not following their message with those 2 pictures but apparently can't bother to read their guests'messages. So, of course, no free wifi as announced. The feeling you get is that the staff/owners couldn't care less about their guests or their accomodations. So our advice is to avoid this place if you can.

At least they did have clean sheets and towels
