Only one side of the bed had a lamp, which wasn’t very powerful so reading was impossible without the main light on. No fruit the first morning at breakfast.

The breakfast the first day was very basic, however the second day was much better, with a large bowl of fruit on the table. We liked the location as it was quiet and very close to the canal, so we had lovely walks into the centre of town. The bed was very comfortable and we slept well, the balcony was also a bonus

Outside steps might be difficult for some people but Matthieu will be very willing to help.

There are no restaurants or bars close by but it is only a twenty minute walk into the centre of Castelnaudary.

The owner Mathieu was very friendly, helpful, and informative. He also spoke very good Engish. The premises were very clean and the rooms of a good size, as was the bathroom. There was a terrace outside (with good views) for the use of all four rooms. Breakfast was a good selection of croissants, bread and home made jams. Juice and coffee were plentiful and yoghurt was available. Parking was secure in what is a quiet neighbourhood. There is a small supermarket close by. The pool was not used as the weather in April was not warm.

We had a lovely stay in L'oustal des Fontanilles. It is in a quiet part of town but not far from the centre of town, restaurants etc. Everything was clean, the room and bathroom were spacious and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was great and the host was very friendly. Would highly recommend.

The wonderful reception we received on arrival. The house is situated within easy walking distance of the canal and town. It was lovely to cool off in the pool. Our room was very spacious with a nice ensuite bathroom. The breakfast was super, croissants, chocaltines, different breads, french toast, homemade jams, fruit juice and tea or coffee, all served on the lovely terrace by the lovely owner. It's an ideal stopover if you're travelling through or a great base to discover the region.

Fabulous hosts. Very welcoming, great communication. Lovely pool to cool off with the bonus of fresh off the trees fruit , yum. Marianne’s homemade jams and conserves a treat for breakfast. The room was perfect, clean modern with great bathroom Quiet peaceful evening , with opportunity to walk to restaurants. We regret not going locally to have the Cassolet , famous in the area.This family home offers the perfect retreat and we would not hesitate staying again . It is the perfect place to ride, or hire a boat for the Canal de Midi

Matthew and his wife were amazing hosts. So very friendly, even picked up party at train station and dropped us off at Le Boat. They were very generous and so very nice. Delicious breakfast was presented in an outdoor setting.

We were biking the canal du midi and overnighted here. We absolutely loved our stay. The hosts are so kind and genuine. They were ready to help and facilitate our stay. The swimming pool is a plus! Best Breakfast in South France!!!!! Thankful for this beautiful experience!
