Very beautiful, spacious and comfortable room. Great shower with high water pressure. Nice shared terrace and living room/kitchen. Very conveniently located. Would definitely recommend (and return ourselves)

To us, it wasn't clear that you have to request breakfast in advance (given that it is called a bed & breakfast and the instructions just said that breakfast was served from 8 onwards). It would be good to include that in the description and ask guests if they want breakfast or not. It wasn't a big deal as you have access to a kitchen and there are several bakeries and supermarkets nearby, so we just prepared our own breakfast.

Excellent location in centre of Bordeaux above pedestrian busy street. Owner Pierre was exceptionally helpful and property was cleaned every day.. On tram route accessing every part of Bordeaux.

Maybe instructions for opening the outside door from within be written in different languages?

    Property response:

Thank you very much for your comment; all our rooms are cleaned every day; thank you to notice it Pierre, the owner

The location is hard to beat. Size of shared space and outdoor patio was really good. Bedroom was also large. Conveniently close to Trams.

ANTS. Sporadic housekeeping. Elevator functionality, coffeemaker out of order

The location couldn't have been better, close to everything. Very walkable safe area. Did not have a street view but a wonderful patio, really enjoyed that and the privacy it provided.

I wish I had more time to spend there.

The lift, location, spacious, owner greeting us on arrival and a few essentials were in the fridge if one needed something Near the Best of our 8 week trip !

Nothing I can think of If we had to share the common area it would have been a surprise and uncomfortable perhaps

The location is fantastic and all the major attractions of Bordeaux are either a walk, tram or boat ride away. My review would have been much better if we had been warned about the adjacent building works - see below. The room & bathroom were large & comfortable. We were able to leave our bags in the room after check out time & collect them in the afternoon.

We stayed at the same time as another reviewer, Franco, and agree with his comments about the building works. The owner's response about the city council being to blame is all wrong: we too rent out property in a major city and have suffered major building works on both sides that lasted over a year. It is always far better to inform potential visitors of the problem, not hide it, and offer a discounted rate for the duration of their stay. That way the visitors are being compensated for jack-hammers starting at 7.30 in the morning in the next-door building. Or they can choose to rent elsewhere. Also we believed that we had paid for everything in advance so we were somewhat shocked to be asked to pay €3.48 as a tourist tax. It's a small amount but, like the building works, it's all about communication & managing expectations. One last thing to note - there's no oven in the kitchen only a microwave.

The location was excellent and for a stay in Bordeaux, this is ideal. We had a good sized room, good shower and whilst the property has a lot of potential and it really could be lovely, we were very disappointed with our 5 night stay.

    1. On arrival a work truck was parked in front of the entrance and we had issues identifying the property and there was scaffolding externally and plastic protecting the floors on entry which was concerning. 2. There were extensive renovations including jack hammering in the morning and noises like furniture being dragged along the floors above us. We should have been advised of the renovation work in advance so that we could make an informed decision about our stay. Our host advised that the jack hammering was on the building next door (and it may have been) but our building had the scaffolding and the builder's notice. 3. On the first day we reported to our host that the TV wasn't working and he finally brought a technician to fix the problem on our last day. 4. The dishwasher apparently didn't work and was full of dirty dishes etc but when the cleaning staff came in daily, they just left the items in the dishwasher. We hand washed what we used and packed them back in the cupboards. 5. There was quite a lot of dust and we had to clean the top of the bedhead ourselves when we arrived. 6. There was inadequate lighting in the room; no ceiling lights, only lamps with dull globes. In fact on entering the room in the dark you had to find a light. 7. We had no problem sharing the lounge/dining, kitchen and outdoor space with other house guests. However, during our stay two separate couples stayed in the other room but both were very surprised to find they were sharing the space with us. Obviously this wasn't made clear to them. 8. By way of apology, our host gave us bottle of red wine on our last day which we couldn't take with us as we were catching a very early flight and we would not have been able to carry it on the flight. Perhaps a 10% refund may have been a better gesture? 8. Then we received a message that we had to pay the 8.80€ city tax which I did pay and left in the room as requested.

    Property response:

Dear Customer, We are sorry that your stay was spoiled by the nuisance and noise of the works, including in particular the jackhammer, from the construction site of the neighboring building. Although we are in a protected area and the golden triangle of Bordeaux, the municipality has authorized major work in the neighboring building causing noise pollution in particular in the neighborhood which we can unfortunately only endure. According to site managers, the noisy work should have stopped at the end of July; however, after a one-month interruption, they resumed in mid-September without our being informed so that we were not able to notify our customers. Believe me, we are particularly annoyed, wanting to welcome our customers in the best conditions; Despite our interventions with those responsible for the chanter and municipal authorities, we were unable to get them to stop or at most limit them to a time slot ranging from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. We have tried to enhance your stay with a bottle of vintage St Emilion and offered you a free stay in our establishment for a duration equivalent to that of your stay, i.e. 5 days; despite our efforts, you gave us a very bad rating and we are very saddened by it

The apartment was clean, spacious, and decorated beautifully. The bed was very comfortable. The location is excellent as it is in close proximity to local sights and shopping. There was scaffolding outside the premises, and workmen renovating the property next door. This did not affect our stay. Great communication from the proprietor. We had a fabulous stay, thank you, Pierre.

Location is outstanding, the apartment is tastefully arranged, commodities as expected, and regular cleaning appreciated. Interface with landlord was swift and efficient

Unfortunately there were works in 2 different close places during our stay, and except for a very peaceful weekend, the noise started …. Rather early.
