Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe fair and party on the beach are a bit noisy but that was okay as the hotel is close to the restaurants so you can expect some noise.
It is a very relaxed place to stay with super welcoming and friendly staff. The location is great, close to the beach, the pool is lovely and the kitchenettes are very handy.

FranceSofa is quite old. Would be good to add a pot lid, plug extender, because there is not enough sockets. And the doors in the shower are not well fixed.
Air conditioning. Everything needed to cook. Clean apartment, bath towels, bed linen. Located at the beach, several restaurants nearby. Swimming pool is nice. Parking at the hotel.

United KingdomVery family orientated, so sometimes noisy, and right by a fun fair. But did go quite during the night. Room was cosy.
The location was great next to bars, restaurants and beach. The staff were friendly and helpful. The pool was warmer than the sea!!!! The hotel was clean and well decorated. The breakfast looked really good, but didn’t partake, but good value for money! The air conditioning was very good!! The room had a fridge and good plug sockets and large bed. Had a view of the pool. Wi-Fi good. Good clean linen provided and room service. Parking was great and safe! And easy to find. Loved our stay there!!!

United KingdomBedroom was dark (Rm 8). Bathroom very small. Kitchen equipment/facilities a bit basic but perfectly functional.
Fantastic location, near beach, restaurants, supermarket, bike hire, 5 mins into centre of village. Central on the island too so great for exploring. Great communal area inside and out as had a garden room booked for the family. Super clean hotel and private pool area. Super friendly and helpful staff.

United KingdomWe stayed in the mezzanine apartment. The stairs were very steep and narrow. Even more difficult to get down (easier to go backwards)than up. My husband who has neuropathy and is also very tall, found it very difficult to get in and out of the bed due to the steep, narrow tread stairs and the very low ceiling. For many the room would be fine, but a clearer warning would have been good.
Brilliant staff, well located -very close to beach and restaurants and a short walk to centre of village and market.

CanadaWe arrived late so we didn’t get an opportunity to order breakfast for the next day. And the location of the pool + our excitable/loud kids was challenging as we had people complain about the noise.

United KingdomSmall things. We used the aircon on the last night and it leaked overnight, narrowly avoiding our things, but the owner fixed it immediately the next day. Would be helpful to have a drying rack outside to hang wet towels and swimmers on. The kitchen equipment wasn't fully stocked, e.g. filter in the coffee percolator, but our friends were next door so we used theirs.
Courade sur Mer is a great location on the island for getting around. We hired bikes for 3 days and covered most of the island using the marked routes. Really enjoyed the cycle route to Loix, which has quiet beaches, and the one to St.Martin along the sea shore, and the cross country one to La Flotte. The route to Ars en Re was really busy and we saw 2 accidents between bikes! Do check if there are good restaurants on your route. We stopped off at some amazing and very reasonable seaside restaurants on the way to St. Martin for drinks, but we would have timed it for lunch if we'd known before. Next to the hotel, there is a good choice of restaurants and bars, and the town is less than 10 mins walk away, but surprisingly less choice there and several restaurants were closed in the evenings we were there. The local market is excellent and the small Carrefour is good for picking up your own provisions. We had breakfast at the hotel the first day, and it's pretty good for the price, but if you're there for more than a couple of days, it's worth picking up your own bits. The apartment was perfect for 2. Would be a squeeze for 4. Comfortable bed, and very useful having the kitchenette for preparing your own meals. The pool was welcome relief from the heat. The owner and all the staff were really lovely and friendly. We needed secure parking so that was one of the factors in choosing this property, but I would stay again for the reasons above.

United KingdomNo curtains or blinds on windows to keep out light, just net curtains half way up. WiFi very intermittent. Swimming pool v small, really just a plunge pool, not heated until July and closes at 1900.
Great location, helpful staff, clean and simple apartment. Decent value for money in a good part of the Ile, close to beach, restaurants, shops and beautiful village.

United KingdomThe ceiling height and beams of the mezzanine were super low, i bumped my head a number of times and my husband could not fit up. We had to send out six year old up there which was a bit treacherous in the night for using the loo as the staircase was very steep.
The proximity to the beach was excellent, however our window was above a restaurant with outdoor tables and right by a funfair, so there was evening noise. Generally it was quite by about midnight.

United KingdomThe steepness and narrowness of the stairs to the mezzanine floor is challenging (together with the low ceiling height).
The location, which is about 500 yards from the beach is fantastic... The furnishings were really stylish within the room!

IrelandThe apartment was a bit dark and a bit tired (a bit of paint and repairs would improve) but clean and functional. Bathroom small although good shower. Bed ok. Air conditioning in the lounge but not in the bedroom. Safe would have an asset. Didn’t use the pool as sun was gone from it mid afternoon when still sunny on the beach.
Great location, a stones throw from what is probably the nicest, longest beach in the island. In front of the hotel are good restaurants, bars, bike hire (we used Holland bikes and explored virtually the whole of Isle de Re in 3 days) There’s a supermarket, pharmacy and market up the road. Nice Village within walking distance. Staff especially Paola friendly and helpful. Breakfast is self service and was fine. We had an apartment so only used it once.
