We loved that the house had a keyed courtyard to enter the property where you could safely park a car. This was especially important for us since we had a rental. The home is located in a cute little village near a big grocery chain with a gas station in one direction, approximately 2.4km away. In the opposite direction, there was a wonderful little boulangerie that we visited everyday, about 1.4km away. Only steps away (140m) from the boulangerie, there was a smaller grocery chain with a public washer and dryer outside. The house was exactly as described and was super cozy and comfortable! There were ample pillows and blankets, and the beds were very comfortable, which is something I don't often get to say. The host was also wonderful! Before our trip, he sent a video to teach us how the locking systems in France work and said to reach out if we had any questions or needed anything. We actually had difficulty trying to figure out how to turn the oven on the night we arrived, so I sent him a message to ask how to turn it on. He was incredibly fast to respond and very helpful. We were able to get it turned on and cook dinner. We also loved that the house was in a nice quiet little village, but still close to Paris (only an hour or so away), so we could really enjoy the best of both worlds. Enjoy and explore Paris during the day, and come back to a nice quiet countryside village at night! I will warn that if you are not keen on driving a lot and an hour long drive into Paris (without traffic) is too much for you, I would not recommend this home. For us, an hour long drive is nothing, so the location of this house was perfect for us! If we ever get back over to this area of France again, I would happily stay at this home again in a heartbeat!

Not that I didn't like it, as much as I wasn't expecting it, but I think the hot water turns off at some point during the night. There were a couple of days where we had been out all day and came back to the house at night. After everything and everyone settled down, I was ready to take a shower, but the water was ice cold and never warmed up. It was in the late night/early morning hours, around 1am or 2am. It was nice and hot again in the morning, though! But if there is a time that the hot water turns off at some point during the night, it just would have been nice to know in advance so I could have showered earlier in the night before that happened, or so I would have known to wait until the next morning.
