How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThis is an exceptional guest house/ B&B. The old barn tastefully restored by the hosts with the incredible attention to detail. The facilities on offer are second to none! Fully equipped , spacious dining hall, (which you can use throughout the day), beautifully decorated lounge and bedrooms. Super comfortable bed and a quality pure linen bedclothes meant we had a really restful sleep. The breakfast here is excellent and plentiful and there is an unlimited offer of tea/coffee throughout the day. The property also has a secluded swimming pool area which we , unfortunately, didn’t use enough as we were too busy exploring many cultural/historical attractions this area has to offer. Nichole and Gill are the most relaxed, gracious and helpful hosts and they made us feel truly welcome in the Ratatouille! If you’re travelling this way, you can’t go wrong by booking this accommodation! We hope to be back someday too!
Nothing to add here

Verified reviewWe chose Ratatouille because it is located close-by to where our parents live. We were all attending a celebration for them and so it was very convenient. It is a beautiful property set in gorgeous, tranquil countryside. The quality of the whole place is exceptional. Both the interior and exterior of the buildings wouldn’t be out of place in the pages of a magazine. The architecture, finishes and furnishings are a real credit to Nicole and Gilles. They have thought of everything to make your stay as comfortable as possible. It is immaculately clean. The swimming pool is amazing. The breakfast plentiful and the bedrooms wonderfully comfortable. The hosts are just delightful in every way.
I have nothing negative to say about this property. I loved it and it is such amazing value for money.

Verified reviewAbsolutely everything! We loved Ratatouille and everything it had to offer. Nicole and Gilles are the ultimate hosts, it was like staying with friends in their home but in the best way possible! We felt comfortable and at home whilst receiving the best possible service. The entire place is exceptional, tastefully, and attractively decorated and furnished to a wow factor and the garden and pool is simply delightful. Everything had been carefully thought about and considered and as guests we reaped the benefits. Nicole and Gilles during the 4 days were stayed went over and above for us in terms of hospitality and we feel lucky that in finding a b&b that we never knew existed a few months ago we not only had an amazing few days but we came away having made 2 new friends. I want everyone to go and stay at Ratatouille and experience what we did and at the same time I don't want anyone to go because the more people who know about this gem then the less likely there'll be a room free next time we go!! Oh and there's a donkey!
There wasn't a thing, it was perfect 👌

Verified reviewA stay in Ratatouille is like no other. It was a privilege to be there. The decor is stunning, high vaulted wooden beam ceilings of a beautifully restored barn, full of space and light. Charming, cosy kitchen area, delicious breakfast. Hosts were exceptional and provided in depth knowledge of the area, restaurants, markets etc. Located in quiet, rural area.

Verified reviewIt was our third time in the region and this was by far the best accommodation and experience we had and the loveliest owners we have met. The setup and decoration of the rooms, the dining room and common spaces are outstanding. There is a fantastic spacious living room available for the three rooms, the swimming pool is big and clean (and practically always open and there is an aquabike you can use). We loved the breakfast, the choice of food was great, including home made muffins :). It is very peaceful there, the street is far away with almost no cars passing and it’s a convenient base to explore the region (Padirac cave, Rocamadour…). But what really makes a difference is the hospitality of Gilles and Nicole, laid back and warm. We felt at home there and were sad to leave :(.
Absolutely nothing.
