I absolutely love this place . The goats and the sheep and the sound of the geese over the lake make it so restful and so calming. The staff are delightful and the bath tubs are perfect ! Wonderful grounds. Great pool. Terrific restaurant . Dog friendly.

The rooms. The first we booked was a triple room (1 double and 1 single) but we got 3 single beds. There was no shower; rather a bath with a shower head only which had no wall fixing ie. you had to sit in the bath and manually hold the shower head! Far from ideal. And in the second room the electric sockets did not work and there was nobody on site to fix this, nor could we get an alternate room. Breakfast was disappointing. One staff member covering the entire restaurant and most of the food had gone with 60 mins of service to go, bar soggy croissants. A big downer after a fabulous dinner the night before.

Relaxing and large grounds to walk around. Lovely surroundings. Dinner menu was excellent.

Rooms not ready on slightly early arrival. Did not seem to be the housekeepiing staff available. Only one manager on site, seemingly doing all jobs. Shown one room on arrival which was messy and unclean. Not the welcome introduction you expect..

The paper glasses in the bedrooms. We prefer glasses. We would also prefer walk-in showers, but I was told that is about to happen.

The food was excellent. Diner was just great and with the good weather eaten on the terrace. A very good and fresh selection for breakfast.

The room was not well furnished. The colour scheme, orange, was dated and while there is room for a couple of comfortable chairs, there was only one dining chair and a stool. with the tile floor, it just felt cold and empty, even though the heating was fine.

Our reception was warm and friendly. The room was warm. The grounds are beautiful. The breakfast was more than ample with plenty of choice even though we were the only guests, (our stay was in the middle of January!

Absolutely ideal for us travelling with 2 pets down to Aquitaine from Calais. Close to motorway - yet very secluded with huge grounds (+ 2 lakes). Great room, wonderful linen & tiled floor (with underfloor heating). Staff kind & attentive. Topped off by a terrific 'gourmand' restaurant within main hotel. Overall a terrific experience - we will be back....! P.S. Dogs give it top marks too!

Room was outdated, some plugs were not working. Ventilation was barely working and the room was a spa after a shower.

The bedroom decor was a little dated, no overhead showers in the rooms we stayed in. Room service was very expensive and not great value for money.

The beds were great, dining room and breakfast were lovely. The hotel grounds were stunning. The hotel staff were very friendly and they were great with our dog and made us feel welcome.

Our bedroom on the upper floor only had one chair. A man needed to be a contortionist to pee or access the bath Not too bad if under 5 ft tall The WiFi didn't work in the bedroom

Not a criticism but the restaurant was full the evening we were there. Nearest restaurants were 5 mins drive away in the village of la ferte st aubin. La Petite Auberge was very pleasant & good value. The one recommended by the hotel was also closed as it was a Tuesday. So worth checking.

Great location for a stop over, on way home. Lovely grounds & room. Bathroom big with double sink. Staff very welcoming. Super breakfast included in price.

In our room there was a separate toilet and bathroom . The website states there is no a/c but in our room there was a portable a/c unit and a fan.

Beautiful well kept extensive grounds with a flock of sheep, swans and geese. .Went with our dog which was welcomed and there were other dogs staying at the time . Lovely restaurant where we eat our breakfast. Swimming pool looked very clean ,but we didn't have time to go in as a quick overnight stop.

Electric fences not great for dogs

Wonderful setting , comfy beds, delightful helpful Staff. Heavenly goats and incredible geese - wildlife was just so peaceful.
