How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewVery cozy chalet in a silent place near forest. Its located just near the TER train station, bus stop and starting point for awesome Lac Blanc trail and several others. Absolutely worth its price. If you come to Chamonix for mountaineering or hiking , that's a great place to stay. Most rooms have stunning views on Aiuguille du Midi.
There's no supermarket nearby, only bars, restaurants and cafes. Hotel itself doesn't have restaurant or at least its not functional during summer.

Verified review- comfy bed - decent breakfast - close to the train station
- rooms are very basic. You get no hairdryer, no kettle, cheap toilet paper, shower gel they provide you will last 2 showers max - no room service, no one will change your towel or empty the trash can - room could’ve been cleaner - overpriced for this money

Verified reviewOur bathroom had a very strong radiator, which was useful for drying our clothes since it rained a lot during our stay. The location is excellent, with lovely views and very close to the railway station.
The hotel offers extremely basic rooms. There was no hairdryer in the room, and we had to pay a deposit to rent one from reception. We were not very impressed with the cleanliness. The facilities were extremely old, with visible signs of wear and use.

Verified reviewThe place needs renovation,be aware there is no kettle or any tea, coffee offers in the room, no hair dryer, you have to clean your room by yourself and take out rubbish from your room by yourself.during 5 days stay there was no towel change. Maybe you need to ask in the reception...who knows?I got a kettle for 20 EUR deposit, i recommend to book a studio room with kitchen facilities as this way you at least can have a tea and cook for yourself. Price is the same,I regret I did not know about it before I booked. The only shop in this village close 19.30 .Eric the host was polite and thank you for the kettle)you can pay separately for the breakfast in the hotel if you wish

Verified reviewPerfect location next to the train and short walk to shops in Argentiere (3-5mins)
Quite basic rooms but no issues. A kettle would have been helpful in the single rooms.

Verified reviewGood location easy access to Chamonix and Mont Blanc, comfortable room, accomodation looks better than its age, next to the forest but 2 minutes from the pretty village and the bus stop. The room is big, comfortable, neighbours were in silence except one time. One of the peaks seen from my room which had also a balcony. Room furniture is practical, have enough space for everything.
On Sunday morning from 8- 10 am when it was raining and I was after 2 tiring hikes someone above me was pulling furnitures or I do not know what was done but sounded like that. It was frustrating.

Verified reviewThe location of the property is really nice…also breakfast was nice
There was a guy who was really rude. All we ask about if they know any taxi guy who would drive us in the morning. And his answer was for such a cheap cost you won’t get that service. And £275 is for 3 nights isn’t cheap. Bathroom was clogged. No curtains. Stained toilet.

Verified reviewI've stayed before and I loved it .destination is superb, value for money superb, breakfast was good a hot choice on occasion woukd be nice but defo not a complaint.
We booked a garden view but got the railway line we asked to move but she said she couldn't even though we know some had not booked in to their rooms yet. Only one very soft pillow was given. The wallpaper was peeling off the wall , but it did not matter because the handy location of this place is good. Storage was good in the roo. But needed someing on both sides of the room .

Whilst comfortable, the decor is dated. It would be great to check in a little earlier on in the day, say from 3pm.
