How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewGreat place , lovely swimming pool all the facilities you need ,fantastic owners who couldn’t do enough for us , without them our holiday would have been ruined as we had a pre booked a large taxi to collect us from the airport with our case and 2 extremely large bags which contained our bikes ,the taxi never arrived even after phoning several times . A quick call to Khelifa the owner of the property who we had already arranged to leave our empty cases with until our stay with him at the end of our holiday and he came straight out to collect us having to do 2 trips because of our bikes in cases ,he lent me tools and the use of his garage so that I could assemble the bikes in time for us to ride to the train station in time for our train to Bordeaux , on our return he was an excellent host who treated us as old friends, he again ferried us with 2 trips to the airport for our return flights 5 star service we will definitely stay here next time we return to Carcassonne.

A long walk to get to any restaurants/bar a good 30 mins to reach the square 50 mins to get to the castle. Seating round pool very poor needs replacing.

Verified reviewVery clean room and toilet, smells fresh and well-maintained. Kitchen available (no cooking). Modern TV. No footwear allowed in the room, which says a lot that hygiene is important in the house. The host is fantastic, informative and very responsive. If you love walking everywhere like me, the house is strategically located. About 30 mins from the airport by foot (lack pedestrians though) or use the shuttle. Not much to see around the property but the best part is you can walk easily (mostly flat) by the river to the castle for 45 mins, like a local.

The pool and terrace are perfect to relax in after a day out exploring. It's a fair walk of around 40 mins to the medieval part of the city but along the river bank, so flat and scenic
Practically nothing. There is some traffic noise ,( mainly at peak times) but given the city's proximity it is to be expected.

It's quite damp and cool in the room as it's on the ground floor, I smelt continuously the laundry powder on the bedding, so we kept the aircon on all night making us rather dry. The furniture and deco are dated. It's along on the main road, we didn't dare to open the window, so not too comfortable! We were warned of the usage of the toilet when we arrived, and we got a message from the owner if we had put anything in the toilet making it blocked after we left????
Hello, I was looking forward to your comments, so Just to clear things up. Smell of laundry means cleanliness in our home. When you arrived, I showed you how the toilets worked and the written instructions. With your companion, we tested the Sanibroyeur in front of you and everything worked correctly. When cleaning the room, we noticed an excess of toilet paper (you used two rolls of toilet paper in one evening and one night for two... Well done). The plumber to remove a feminine protection that you flushed down the toilet for a “Genius of the highest quality” (see supporting photo). You didn't even have the politeness and respect to notify us when you left. Due to your negligence we had to delay the entry of guests who were to occupy the room while awaiting repairs. When you made your reservation, I mentioned to you that we were a guest house and not a hotel. I think you are not made for this type of accommodation. I have been hosting guests at my home for 4 seasons and this is the first time I have encountered a problem like this. Frankly, your comments leave me indifferent. Please read the other comments on booking and elsewhere. If you want I can send you the repair invoice?

After a little tour of the Property and room, we also received Some Information about the village, where to go, which restaurants to go to and more important where to stay away. The beds are very comfortable and the swimmingpool is a plus! The breakfast is a suprise. It is homemade.
