Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyWe would prefer to have a don’t disturb sign at the door and choose when to have the cleaning done.
Very central and with a spacious parking lot in a difficult to park town. We would also like to thank the Portuguese staff that were incredibly helpful and kind during our stay

HungaryThe hotel furnishings are a bit old-fashioned, but this didn’t cause any inconvenience during our stay.
We came to Corte for a multi-day hiking trip in the area. Unfortunately, we couldn’t make it to the hotel on the first night because we missed the last train from Bastia. We contacted the hotel, and they responded with remarkable understanding. They didn’t charge us for the missed night, and when we arrived the next morning, they kindly let us leave our luggage in their office so we could go hiking before our room was ready. The hotel is easy to reach, and despite our room facing the road, the area was surprisingly quiet. We were very happy with the balcony and the spacious bathroom as well.

A real old cutie, basic with a good location, lift, close to old town and sightseeing, 15 minute walk uphill from the station. On the way to the Citadel and environs. Good value.

United StatesIt was a little noisy, inside and out, on the night we spent there. Ask for a quieter room if noise will bother you.
The property is well-located in the town of Corte. Check-in was efficient and we were grateful to be reminded that the establishment accepts cash only, no credit cards. The lift begins on the ground floor. Some rooms have outside patios. Others, like ours, face the street and can be a little noisy. The room was spare but spacious.

AustraliaLocated near the centre of Corte. Walkable from the train station but there are many steep steps. It’s a very old hotel and a little run down. Rooms that state there is a hip bath ONLY has a hip bath - no walk in shower.

CanadaOther reviewers seemed to dwell on dated decor. If you’re more concerned about what your friends might think about dated decor than clean, comfortable, well located accommodation, don’t stay here.
Location! One of the closest old-town locations to the train station. Premises VERY clean, basic but had comfortable beds therefore good sleep. AC worked well. Quiet room. Front desk staff very kind and helpful. Loved it!

United KingdomIt is unusual to have to make payment in cash although this is made clear at the time of booking. Hopefully card payments could be accepted in the near future.
Excellent location in the centre of Corte. All main sights within 10 minutes' walk from hotel. We did not have breakfast at hotel as there were lots of restaurants and bakeries 5 minutes walk away. Train station short 8 minute walk from hotel. Room very clean. Would stay here again.

AustraliaA fringe would be a great advantage during summer heat waves. The hotel is great as is, however the town is located on the hill side, steep roads and staired walkways are a norm. Train station is NOT a walking affair to the town centre. Taxi sign is there, but NO taxies are available. A good sumaritan did drive us to the hotel.
Close location to the town main square, helpfulness and friendliness of the staff. Breakfast was a typical French style. They went "an extra mile" to book us a taxi in town where they never seen one.

United StatesThere was live music in a cafe downstairs, but that might have been because I was there during the weekend. Check-out was a bit early, but otherwise a pleasant stay.
Friendly staff. Good value for Corsica. The location is easy to get to from the train station (about 15 minutes, and relatively flat). It is not quite in the old town (~10 min walk), but that's a plus if you are traveling with luggage and without a car. Nice views to either the valley or (i've been told) to the citadel.

Netherlands* Outdated interior, like with carpet * Toilet was too close to the wall * Bathroom didn’t have any hooks or place to hang your towels or the shower head. Was a bit uncomfortable showering in the bathtub like that. * Smell of smoke: the whole building smelled like cigarette smoke
* Location was good. Close to the train station and the center * Value for money * Staff was friendly * WiFi Not a pro or con, but be aware that you need to pay in cash which was in the booking reservation.
