Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThe breakfast was disappointing— on more than one day there was only a small amount of stale bread, with a bit of cheese and meat, and conserves. But all of these things needed bread and there was not much to eat. Also, there was not quite enough toilet paper in the rooms and no restock/clear way to have assistance. Another issue was the showers — just a shower head attached to a bath without an easy way to wash hair etc.
The location is incredible, nestled right under the chateau, with the pool terrace looking out over the river. The pool is clean and very well sized. The rooms with air conditioning were very comfortable, and the area around the property is quiet, peaceful, and feels very safe. Good WiFi also.

United StatesThe walk from the parking area to the accommodation is long and has steep hills, a medieval legacy that nonetheless complicates a stay. Our particular room was a cramped garret that was dimly lit, with steeply sloped ceilings, and without small items of furniture to either raise luggage off the floor or to unpack. And we were confronted by the owner when we moved a picnic lunch in from a rain shower to a living room that doubles as the entryway; and also for using kitchenware when we had received approval in advance by message to do so, since we were traveling with friends and the rooms are too small to spend time together. We were reminded that a chambre d’hôte requires no such amenities or use of living areas.
The location overlooking the Dordogne is marvelous, and the 17th century architecture against the cliff face is as romantic as a fairy tale. The staff was friendly, accommodating, and willing to share information about attractions in the area.

United KingdomNothing I did not like. I was made to feel very at home.
This was a beautiful place to stay with wonderful views over the valley and Beynac itself. The location was perfect with nearby hotel allocated parking which was convenient. Melissa was extremely helpful and this was a special place to relax.

Hong KongLong walking from the parking lot and from the restaurants to estate.
An interesting experience. Good location in terms of view and facing from the Beautiful garden facing the river. Lovely estate with ancient taste (a bit dated) and swimming pool. Staff is very helpful. No airconditioning and no mosquitoes net to prevent mosquitoes and bugs. Suggest to add a fan and a mosquitoes net for the windows. Guillaume is super helpful.

FranceThe fact that we did not understand from the instructions the distance between the parking and the property.
The location is extremely difficult to find with a GPS and almost impossible at night re car access in the absence of a receptionist. You have to walk from the car park to the property with luggage if arriving in the evening. During the day a pick up service is available.

United KingdomGetting to it is difficult with luggage. Water so slow the bath would not fill and no shower apart from hand held in bath. All other aspects of room great.

United KingdomParking difficult to find despite instructions. Then the 300 to 400 metre steep climb, with no signage was extremely difficult whilst carrying luggage. The furniture and fittings were poor quality. Shower awful. Bed sheets and blanket v old fashioned. Breakfast was dreadful - rubbish fruit, ancient days old dry bread that was inedible.
Pleasant chap that met us. Excellent views

United StatesYou really have to see it to believe it, but the family have transformed a truly ancient house into something that is both beautiful and comfortable. It was amazing to be nesting on the cliff side.

United KingdomNothing! A little warning… The town is built on a steep hill, and the maison is half way up so you always need to climb to get anywhere (as expected!). You can’t drive direct to it and need to leave the car 5 minutes away, but staff offered to drive us in their car to help with bags if we wanted.
The whole family loved the maison from start to finish! Perfect location with phenomenal views, beautiful decor and garden, idyllic swimming pool, lovely super helpful staff, delicious breakfast, great grand piano in excellent working order, super comfy beds, cool indoor temperature on roasting day, good showers, interesting history of the building, parking 5 minutes away. The town itself is also lovely - recommend the boat trip which gave more history about the Maison. perfect for us as adults and our 3 primary aged children … we loved EVERYTHING about the Maison du Sarracins.
