Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomIt was all great.
Quirky and full of character, it was wonderful to walk into this room and find the thick, ancient stone walls provided a cool haven from the oppressive heat of the day. It was also great to wake up to a fresh warm baguette and croissants left by our host. Location was amazing for Monets garden and all the sights of Giverny. Everything was a short stroll away. Perfect!

Very easy lock box and Emma was there to greet us. The location of this property is superb, right in the village centre and perfect for a morning visit to Monet’s garden. We were a short queue and entered the garden at 9.40am. Parking is easy, free on the Main Street, but if busy use a large village car park and move your car nearer at 6pm. The breakfast is superb! Fresh hot bread and croissants delivered to the door at a requested time, buttery croissants, the best I have ever tasted in all my years travelling to France! Homemade jam, butter, milk, orange juice, water and yoghurt all ready in the fridge and real coffee. The property is really quaint and so charming, well designed, immaculate and spacious, perfect for two people. It is a real treat so beautifully thought out and planned and has a separate loo.In our opinion this property was outstanding! In the evening when a lot of the visitors have left it is idyllic to sit outside with a glass of wine, so quiet and like a different place. A lovely village to explore and a superb engineering museum that is amazing! A great stay, thank you!

United KingdomCharming character accommodation in the cellar of a property with access to the main but quiet street of Giverney. Adapted in a rural rustic style, the accommodation is comfortable with every convenience. Very convenient for Monet’s Garden but out of the crowded tourist area.

ItalyCozy apartment in the main street of Giverny, self check-in procedure is convenient and user friendly. Host has been helpful before the arrival, fresh croissants and baguette have been delivered for breakfast in the early morning. Clean and well equipped, toilet is small but still ok. Free parking is available on a walking distance, Monet house&garden are just 5' by foot.

CanadaI would have liked a small fan, that may have been there. I didn’t look for it.
Excellent location, and wonderful support (we locked the keys in). Photo is very realistic. I wish I had brought slippers with me, as I’m not used to tile floors. My husband needed gluten free that the kindly, and well accommodated. In the morning warm, yes warm baguette and croissants were delivered to the door. The hot water tank did a bit of gurgling in the night but it was not an issue. The room heats well.

New ZealandCold floor and door uninsulated, Heater was too small to heat the room.
Great idea in a seasonally popular place. We visited in March, when attractions were unfortunately closed. Authentic, simple, country renovation, without fuss. Not possible to cook. Home-made touches, fabulous jam. GOOD EXPERIENCE. Lovely host close-by with baguettte for breakfast.

United KingdomLack of drawers to store clothes. The door to the toilet creaks. (But these things are trivial).
Very comfortable and cosy. Delicious bread and croissants delivered every morning. Right in the middle of Giverny. The owner drove us back to Vernon, and supplied a lovely cake.

AustraliaThe very sqeaky toilet door ! Otherwise was all good !
An amazing space in a converted wine cave, the hosts were so friendly and helpful despite no English, no problem with Google translate 😀 The breakfast was delicious, mixture of supplies left in the fridge and warm fresh pastries delivered each morning. Bed was very comfortable. Easy walk through the whole village , about 5 minutes to Monet's garden.

AustraliaThe bed was quite firm which doesn’t suit my body.
Excellent location. Space to park the car. Less than a 10 minute walk to Monet’s house and garden. Contactless entry to the room. Friendly staff, however doesn’t know much English. Didn’t cause much of a problem though.

Czech RepublicIn the night there's some noise from the water in the piping system. I am sensitive to sound ... Anyways, is this even a real problem?
This is very lovely place, all new and clean in french-cottage decor. Breakfast included, you get a yoghurt, croissant, baguette, some jams, butter, juice and other french stuff. The room, which is in a former wine cave, is on the main street Claude Monet, just a few minutes walk from the Monet's house and the gardens. Good value for the price. Bonus points for the nice and helpful owner and her sister.

IrelandEverything closes in village very early
If I were to visit again I would stay in Giverny-vernon beside the train station as there is an early train around 9.50am and the first shuttle out if Giverny town where gardens are is at 10.30am so this delayed us and we missed connection trains. However if you have a car then no problem.

ItalyThe downside of the property is that, being located in a place that was probably once a wine cellar or a basement, the environment was extremely damp.
The property was in an extremely convenient location, just a few steps from Monet's house. The breakfast with fresh croissants and bread was delivered in the morning directly by the host, which was greatly appreciated.
