Instructions on check in. We found the accommodation fine but there was no one around so we messaged on booking.com and waited. There was a bell on the sign at entrance that we also pressed but wasn’t sure if it did anything. It wasn’t a big deal but if arriving late it might be a little confusing

Breakfast was very well catered for and good value for money in the breakfast gazebo. Large quirky room in a cave with a beautiful bathroom. We ended up eating in and sitting outside all evening as it was hot. Kitchen had enough to cook a simple meal. It was very peaceful. It was very hot when we stayed so helped as the room is cool. We kept our dehumidifier on all times, especially after showers and that helped with any damp smell. We travelled with our teenager who also enjoyed it. It was a lovely one night stay whilst travelling.

Philippe was very welcoming and the cave houses made a cosy place to stay. It’s well located in easy cycling distance of the town centre.

It smells a little damp, but no more than would be expected. The access is tight in a larger car, but OK.

Quirky and very comfortable. Easy to find, very friendly welcome, convenient to walk into town, great facilities. The room faces south with an outside seating area. We only stayed one night but would like to have stayed longer.

That we only booked one night at this lovely place.

The room was exceptional, had everything we needed and such a unique experience to sleep in a cave. The decor was oriental-style with a feint delicate scent of joss-stick in the background. Absolutely delightful. Our host was very helpful and friendly and clearly proud of the work he has it in not create this superb accommodation.

Th lack of a door to the loo, so no privacy. It was all one room, other cave houses are done differently.

Interesting to stay in a cave and such an old one. It had been nicely done out if a little primitive. A door to the toilet is quite a nice thing to have. The heaters were effective but it’s hard to ventilate a cave and keep it warm in extremely cold weather, without condensation forming on every bit of glass.

The bed fell apart, and it was pretty humid inside. Also, 100s of bee's in ivy surrounding front door. Was OK, but a little worrying!

Sadly disappointing as this property was NOT as advertised.

    • Stayed 1 night

We visited during an extremely hot period with temperatures over 30 degrees in early September and travelling with a dog we specifically booked accommodation on our trip that had air conditioning. We stayed in the Eden Room which was advertised (and still is) as having air-conditioning. Unfortunately this was NOT the case, rather there was a fan available for use. We found a small unplugged de-humidifier in the corner of the bathroom which my companion managed to turn on but required emptying and after a short period of use blew out warm air. The cave as might be expected was extremely humid and the absence of AC made for an uncomfortable nights sleep, or lack of. Guests who did not expect a/c may be happy with the accommodation however we specifically booked on the basis of this facility which was NOT available. The room was also advertised as having two double beds another reason for booking the property. On arrival we discovered one bed (as photographed) the second was in the form of a sofa bed which we had to specifically ask to have made up for us. Again perhaps a problem of mis-advertising but had we known it was a sofa bed, we would not have booked this accommodation. We had relied upon the property having a BBQ facility but this was also not available although we discussed in broken French the cooking facilities. Other guests should not rely upon being able to BBQ, again perhaps not a problem for guests who are staying longer, but we had only booked one night and had arrived with food to cook based upon the premise that there was a BBQ available. Breakfast is charged at E8 per person for what looked like a croissant and some bread, jam, juice and coffee. As our dog was not allowed in the breakfast area (shed) and the proprietor told us to put the dog in the car (in 25 degree plus heat) and return without him for our meal, we left without sampling the food.

A quirky room, and great bathroom with good sized towels (a rarity) and a fabulous shower.

The access to the room was a bit untidy and the rooms weee a bit damp.

The property was different, being in a cave and was very well done. It had a small kitchenette, handy for making a hot drink or a light meal. The rooms were very spacious and the outdoor seating area was good.
