We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomIt could do with abit more TLC. For example we base to go out and buy more toilet roll as only one was provided for 4 of us and the seal on the shower is broken so water goes all over the floor which is dangerous.
The garden and location are absolutely stunning! The conservatory is huge and is lovely to sit and look out.

United KingdomThe owner has clearly tried to make the bungalow good for letting. My wife and I slept in the Chalet in the garden - this is pretty ‘basic’. With a little more expenditure and imagination the whole property would be more homely. We would then mark it as excellent.
The bungalow is well situated, close to a park and river walk to the lovely, ancient Cotswold town of Winchcombe. Its strongest asset is the excellent garden, with its fish pond. We and our grandchildren also loved the large Conservatory. The two double beds in the house were comfortable.

IcelandA bit more personal host would have been nice, I got an email with the wrong name ie meant for another.. felt a little like “just anyone”.. would have liked a bit more personal approach, it really makes a difference! And maybe a bit more than one available toilet paper roll.. kind of cheepish 😬 But the house suited us, slow shower but worked fine. The price is fair for what you get. The kids loved to feed the fish.
Sweet location and a lovely backyard

United KingdomA top window in each of the two bedrooms was twisted out of shape and unable to close properly, making the rooms very draughty. If there had been a wind, this would have been much worse. The conservatory opens directly from the living room, making it very hard to satisfactorily heat the whole large area. I asked for the property to be heated in advance of our arrival as I have been ill and I am feeling the cold more keenly. I was advised that the heating was timed but that I could turn the heating on when I arrived. I did this but the house took a very long time to warm up, as if it had been heated only briefly in the preceding days / weeks. There was just one thin blanket in the conservatory which we used to cover us while sitting in the living room in the evening. The cleaners will have noticed that we took the quilt from the second bedroom and placed it on top of the quilt on our bed and anchored this with two duvet covers to keep us warm at night. The letter box flap had fallen off and was placed on an outside windowsill. The fridge door would not shut properly and bleeped constantly. The kitchen was adequate but was not heated. The bathroom was quite nicely done but the shower was inadequate. I am glad that we did not have anyone else with us as we used the quilt from the second room. Additionally, I feel that the cabin in the garden was not adequate for sleeping in and needs a lot of TLC. The house was sparsely furnished and looked rather bare. Our bedroom needed blinds or net curtains. Outside looked rather unkempt and would benefit from the leaves being swept up.
The location was good to access the town / village, and to start lots of walks. The bed in the larger bedroom was comfortable. The garden was pleasant, although it was too cold to take advantage of it.

United Kingdom1. No WiFi. We were told it must be us as there had been no problems in the past. The owner would not take the simply step of contacting his provider to find out why the system was showing that it had been disconnected by the provider. Would not answer our continued requests to contact his provider. 2. Three windows did not close properly causing drafts at night. 3. Towels in the laundry bag, appeared to be left over from last visit 4. Back garden gate unable to be opened even though it was stated in the "house rules" that this was to be used to get to the pets waste bin via crossing a field at the back of the property. 5. Main waste bin had obviously not been emptied as when we came to put our waste bag into the outside bin, it meant the top would not close. 6. The fridge still had a soft drinks bottle in it, which had obviously been left by the previous renter, and a strong smell of fish. 7. Request to feed the fish in the pond, but very little food in the jar.

United KingdomThe standard of cleanliness of the bungalow. There was a lot of dust, cobwebs and a mouldy musty smell as we entered the place. There were two broken windows which did not shut at all, mould around the bedroom window frames and the shower window. The bedding was clean, but the mattress was absolutely disgusting full of stains like it had been pulled out of a dumpster.
The size of the bungalow was good, open plan and spacious. Location was also ideal. Handy guide for the staying guests. Space for parking.
