Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThe grass had not been cut for a few weeks which is not nice when this is a pet friendly let and some people do not clean up after their pets. The kitchen could have been cleaner. The kitchen table is a drop leaf, which had not been put down and cleaned in a while and the folds were full of old food.
A welcome bottle of wine was a lovely surprise. Comfortable beds and living room, lovely bathroom. Clean and tidy. Plenty of towels and extra bedding. Central heating and hot water both good. An open fire which would be great in colder weather. There was a camping gas stove and gas and candles in case of a power cut which is a great addition. An outdoor seating area is lovely in the summer.

United KingdomIt’s quite a climb up a single track road which might put some people off but worth it for the seclusion and peaceful surroundings. An oven glove and cheese grater would be useful.
In a quiet, remote location with great views, wildlife all around. Warm and comfortable, nothing fancy but very relaxing and no list of “dos and dont’s which you get at some places.

United StatesMore road signs at the turn points once we were off 8060, we could’ve used at least 2 signs one for each turn. We ended up looking at each house on the road, before a neighbor pointed to the right location. The narrow road up to the property was a bit frightening, renters should have a small compact to be able to drive up the road. The high walled tub could’ve used some sticky decals or hand rails to ensure a safe shower.
We liked the size of the cottage, the kitchen overlooking the animals, the morning call of the cuckoo bird! We liked the location of the town on Lewis. The 3 bedrooms were great.

It was very beautiful The coastal scenery was stunning. It was very quiet. The open fire made the house cozy in the evenings. The house was snug regardless whether you lit the fire or not. The views are spectacular. It was a lovely rest from a buisy life, we were able to relax and potter around the whole island from Gravir. It was the best of holidays.

United KingdomMaureen was extremely helpful and welcoming. We only met on the phone but she was very happy to answer any queries or advise us. It was a sweet little bungalow with all you needed for a great trip. We loved the idea that it was at the end of the track with stunning views.

United KingdomRain, although without it fireplace wouldn't be so attractive. First drive to...quite a drive. But following days it was all right.
I liked a bath and live fire to relax by after a day out. I liked sunsets (if weather allowed to see them). I liked the rainbow during the sunset one night (21/6). I liked noises of animals (sleep, goats, ducks, geese, Stirlings, ...).

United KingdomI couldn’t get enough hot water to have a bath but I might of just been a bit clunky with how the water works. It wasn’t enough of an issue for me to ask how to fix it.
The property really suited our needs and had little bonuses like the coal fire and washing machine with a really well kitted out kitchen.

This property is well worth booking and using as a base to travel around Harris and Lewis. It is the perfect location The house is located in the most beautiful farmland with stunning views of the lochs and sea. One of the best places I’ve stayed at in the highlands. The house is very clean, cosy and felt like a true Scottish experience. The kitchen well stocked, beds:sheets very comfy and clean, bathroom newly updated and decent shower. The host was also very friendly and helpful and was responsive to any question we had during our stay. The photos don’t do this place justice!! must stay!

United KingdomThe lounge area needed a little bit of an upgrade, and the lounge window was high-up and restricted the potential views. The TV remote control was faulty/old and frustrating to operate. The kitchen oven had no fan making cooking meals more awkward.
Good location high up on hill side with views across the Minch. It had an enclosed garden area which was ideal for our pet dog to safely go outside and explore. There was an old decking area at the rear of the property which was sheltered from the wind. The bungalow was spacious inside. The bedrooms were comfortable and very clean. Wifi was very useful to have also.

United Kingdomthe property was very damp. After a short while the dehumidifier tank was full of water. Sheets on one bed had a stain. Carpet in one corner was stained and smelt of urine (possibly a dog) Wood lice kept appearing from under the carpets. No hot water in the bathroom wash bowl. Shower good

United KingdomThe kitchen was dated and the crockery and cutlery was not clean. I had to wash everything before using. There was also empty and out of date items in the store cupboard. It would have been nice to have a stool or chair in the bathroom and perhaps a hook for hanging dressing gown and clothes. Although there was fuel provided, there was no firelighters and not enough fuel for a 3 night stay
The cottage was comfortable with the open fire and a variety of heating options. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was fine. The location, although a bit further off the beaten track than was ideal, offered a variety of interesting encounters with local croft animals, goats, geese, hens,, ducks, sheep and the cuckoo etc. It was peaceful and private and reasonably well equipped.
