The Saturday nightlife in Dundee might sound a little too "vibrant" for some: the seagulls maybe even more so!

It was slightly muggy when I stayed and I wasn't quite sure how to keep the window open without it shutting back down which is only a minor problem. Also I realise there are Glass facades above each room door but still found it a bit tricky walking around in the dark but this is a minor problem that im not quite sure how you solve without creating another issue for guests trying to sleep. Although it was my mistake in not contacting the property owners beforehand I was hoping to store a cabin bag before checking in. Upon ringing bells and contact numbers I got no response. Minor again and I just sat in the nearby Wetherspoons but the room was thankfully made up earlier than check in time anyway. If this is something important in booking ahead I would contact the owners and ask.

A throwback style guest house single room with shared facilities, not my usual booking but everything was impeccably clean and thought about carefully.

Some noise during the night, of people coming in and out of their room, and sounded like someone was trying to get into the room (obviously they got wrong room)

One small thing was climbing stairs to 3rd floor with my COPD by next time when booking I would ask for room lower down if possible.Bu apart from this little thing did not spoil my stay in any way.

Room lock was a bit iffy. Pub across the road played VERY loud music until midnight.(fortunately it was in a style I like). Just a small thing (no pun intended) but I am just five feet tall and could only just reach the high key safe. Another inch and I wouldn't have been able to get in.

Central. Convenient for all attractions. Spotlessly clean. Comfy bed. Nice to have a microwave available and a communal fridge. Shower was electric with Immediate hot water. What a luxury!

The price, I appreciate my booking was last minute on account of me being kept on for another day of agency work, and prices are probably algorithmically worked out based on availability it the city, but for the same price a Tuesday at your very comfortable and quirky guest house, I got an en-suite room at hotel indigo on a Friday night. I have got zero complaints about your guest house but perhaps prices are a bit ambitious for the facilities offered.

It was warm, comfortable, staff were friendly.

The location was excellent and the price was good. The man who runs it was nice. It was very near the river and the bridge and the new V&A museum, as well as the train and bus station and the center of town. In other words, it met my requirements.

Tiny loo on third floor but better than not having one! Understandable as the building is listed. Loved my room at the top anyway so not complaining.

Abalree was very relaxed and at home feeling. It was great for visiting the city highlights. Also good for finding places to eat. It was perfect fir the station and the river front and quiet as the street is pedestrianised. Lots of arty things to look at and an interesting old building.

Nothing in particular, I had a nice stay

A great location in town, as the street right infront of the hostel is closed for cars. You can still unload, but there is no traffic noise, which is really nice. The communication with the hostel by phone was easy and friendly and our stay pleasant. The room we were in was facing the backside with a little noise from a restaurant, but we had a perfectly relaxing sleep. The room is individualy and slightly over decorated, but in a nice way. The hostel provides a microwave and dish cleaning facilities.

My key was not in the key safe. I had to wait for Reception to arrive. No breakfast served despite notices and information online. Plenty of eateries in same street that provide breakfast.

Central location of Aabalree is very suitable if a bit noisy due to outside seating of two bars...long after ...bar closing time....earplugs are a useful addition for the traveller!
