The rooms was a little tired. The bathroom needed a good clean and the mould sorting out. The shower was absolutely hopeless, no pressure and very little water. The toilet is a macerator and is very noisy, so don't plan on a quiet visit to the toilet in the middle of the night... :)

Restaurant was quite busy, nice pub food and a good point of beer. Staff seemed quite friendly

Two pints of beer were off and the shower in one room was great, but in the other it was rubbish.

The pub was good and the food was great.

The room wasn't ready when we arrived but we were early so went for a walk. Still not ready when we got back and we were given a free drink. When we eventually got in our room it was clean but hadn't been re stocked, ie no toilet paper, milk etc. We had to ask twice for toilet roll. We were given another free drink with our meal which was passable, but even then our order wasn't quite right.

The staff tried hard and were obliging. The hotel is any an attractive location.

    very cold shower

it’s great apart from no hot water so very cold shower wasn’t the best and will stick with Travelodge / Premier Inn as we have done approx 8 weekends per year for the last 10 years and always had hot water

Contrary to the impression given by the Booking.com portal, the room had not been paid for in advance so we had to pay on arrival. The breakfast had to be paid for the evening before and gave the impression of having been prepared the evening before. This impression reinforced by the fact that whilst poached eggs were on the menu, they could not be provided (who can't poach an egg?). The shower was showing its age.

Comfortable bed and nice thick carpet in the bedroom. The meal in the evening was outstanding.

The bathroom was freezing cold, the towel radiator was rusty and not working, no HOT water in the shower!!!!! The stay would have been great if the bathroom was up to par. The fact there was no hot water was beyond disappointing especially with an £80 price tag for the night.

Location was great with fantastic views. Owner and staff were very professional and polite.

No cleaning during our time. We had to supply products ourselves. Staff only available from 11am if you require extra toilet paper, towels. This should be adapted to self catering accommodation.

Location convenient to family, quiet village, countryside, good pub food. Basic accommodation which could be adapted to self catering.

Bathroom was poor. Manager at the restaurant was very rude. Whilst he fixed an issue with our food order (they gave us the wrong order - we understood the error and mistakes happen in a busy restaurant) - he blamed us for the error which was not our fault and repeatedly challenged on it despite explaining the scenario. We showed the waitress the specials menu we were ordering from. When we said we had already waited 45 - 50 min for our food and were concerned about how much longer it might take to rectify, he just said food usually takes an hour (as if that’s an excuse). He was rude delivering the food to the table. He made a point of specifying that the order should be changed on the bill when we made payment and whilst we had the good grace to say thank you for resolving the issue, he never once apologised for it and left us with the impression he blamed us when it was not our error. It’s such a shame as the food is good generally and the other staff are great and we appreciate he did have to have our order prepared again.

Convenient stay and good value for money

We booked 3 double rooms at the hotel. Two of the rooms were OK, however the 3rd room where my friend stayed, he found that in the bathroom, the toilet seat was missing and was on the floor next to the toilet. As far as I know he has reported this to the hotel.

The location of the hotel was great for what we needed.

Rather tired accommodation in need of an upgrade, particularly due to mould/condensation. Concerning that items such as fire extinguisher, electrical items etc appeared well overdue testing dates, and some (TV and heater) didn't actually work properly and were also very unclean - overall, felt a little unsafe and in need of renovation. Towels and bedding also rather worn - definitely needs some work, especially given the price. There's potential here with the location, hopefully it can be used.

No frills accommodation with on-site parking and pub across the road. Probably fine for a night if you're going out walking and aren't bothered about home comforts / just want something basic.

The bathroom was damp, cold and in desperate need of attention and updating. The shower was appalling and dribbled out. Bare wires visible in the room, a Tiny tv, and not much else. Breakfast not included and for the £90. This was over priced

The room was Ok. Quite small but clean and dry.

When we first arrived there was no note of our booking despite speaking to the hotel manager three days prior. We then had to wait 45 mins to check into a room whilst they prepared one for us - they then took us to a room with a double bed when we specifically asked for two twin beds as we were colleagues travelling together for work. The following morning we were informed that there was no breakfast available as the chef had left for a holiday - despite being told by staff the night before that breakfast would be available at 8am. Whilst we were out of the room it wasn’t cleaned, the towels weren’t replaced, neither were the tea facilities restocked. The first time we came back to the room and found the towels hadn’t been replaced we called to reception and they apologised but the same thing happened the following day and when I called a second time I was informed that I needed to ask the hotel for a clean and fresh towels which I was not told when I arrived.

The only positive comment to this stay was the evening meal was very nice, couldn’t fault the restaurant and bar.
