Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomPeaceful stay in a lovely old house. Host was so accommodating and knowledgeable about the local area. Local produce used in the dining room, food was beautiful! And nice to see local artwork on the walls and a nice collection to buy too if you so wish. Everything was perfect - thank you!

United KingdomThe wifi was patchy during our stay.
The location is great. There are walks from the doorstep with beautiful views over the Sound to Mull. The wildlife is great - we saw a golden eagle, sea eagle, deer and an otter and more. Elfik was a great host at the B&B and dinner is provided on request. There is also a very good restaurant (The Whitehouse) in Lochaline.

United KingdomThe only thing I didn't like about my stay was the fact that I had to leave after only one night.
The accommodation is luxurious, it was pristine and the location is idyllic. If you want tranquility, this is a wonderful place to stay. On top of that, the hosts are incredibly warm and welcoming, and fascinating to talk to. I can highly recommend this property. I will try to return here on my next visit to Mull.

United KingdomElfik and Zuzana are superb hosts and their accommodation offers a relaxing and elegant stay nestled along the sound of mull and rugged west coastline. Their communication was exceptional and the attention to detail, from the cleanliness of the rooms to the preparation and presentation of meals, was first class. Their expertise in hospitality really shines through and they make the grace and luxury of their charming B&B seem effortless. Up the road there is a modern distillery where you can sample some new developments in the world of whiskey, and a little further on is the studio and small gallery of a talented local artist. The local people we met during our stay were lovely, we stopped to have a chat to everyone we met and were made to feel welcome in the community for the duration of our stay. If you are looking for a quiet getaway with good food, nice people, and plenty of natural scenery, look no further.

United KingdomVery few food options in the area as no restaurants, however the food is so delicious at the Achnacriche that we didn't mind eating at the same place for 3 nights
This is a remote little gem of a place. Walking distance to the NcNean Distillery. Beautiful countryside setting with amazing veiws and tranquility. Elfik and Suzana are amazing cooks and hosts and couldn't be more accommodation. Not much going on in the area, but for real slow down and relaxtion, couldn't beat this place.

United KingdomNothing to dislike apart from a very creaky bed. It kept us awake nearly all night. As soon as you moved it was very noisy. But the bed itself was comfortable and a large double. Very clean bathroom and excellent food.
A wonderful secluded location. Very clean and very welcoming staff. Very quiet with amazing skies as no light pollution.

United KingdomNothing to complain about, everything was perfect. Wifi was not so good, which is exactly how we like it.
Achnacriche is on Morvern, a scenic drive away from the nearest village, Lochaline. The skies and panoramas along the sound of Mull are lovely and dramatic, and there is excellent walking to be done in the immediate environment (Drimnin) as well as further afield. The local distillery, McNean, is not to be missed. The B&B is welcoming, clean and well equipped. The hosts, Elfik and Zuzana, are exceptionally welcoming and accommodating. Breakfast is cooked to order and delicious. For dinner, there are few options as there are no other facilities nearby; we acquiesced in having dinner at the B&B. However, we found that the dinners, cooked expertly by Zuzana, were actually the high light of our stay! This is home cooking at its scrumptious best. Three course meals, mostly local ingredients, everything delicious and well presented; hardly a crumb went back to the kitchen. I advised Zuzana to write her recipes down for a cookbook, "who would buy it", she shrugged. I would buy it, Zuzana, I would!

NetherlandsEverything perfect!
Hospitallity at high level. Elfik and Suzanna do everything possible to make you feel at home. Home is: a wonderful bed room with a well equipped bathroom. The option to use dinner at the b&b is not just recommended but worth the price, as the cooking is delicious, and the attention for details simply great. The intriguing distillery Nc'Nean is almost their neighbour and absolutely worth a visit. The location of Achnacriche offers absolute tranquillity with wonderful options for walks and to relax.
