Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

A bit tired needs an uplift. Except the bathroom it was excellent. Needed new light/ fan switch in the bathroom. When the maintenance guy switched off the electric to repair, he accidentally switched off the heating. It was freezing in the morning with no hot water.

The aircon was a bit difficult to figure out and there were no tongs in the kitchen to cook with but otherwise everything was great would definitely stay again
The super king bed was amazing, the apartment was spacious with plenty of room in the bedroom for our things. The TV had Netflix connected to it which was great and the wifi was good too. The kitchen was well equipped and we cooked dinner almost every night here to save money. The train station was only a 5-10min walk away and was only an hour to Edinburgh and 25 minutes to Glasgow and heaps cheaper than staying in the city. The neighbourhood was quiet and safe and there were a few little corner shops nearby to get food.

The only major issue was that the couch was very uncomfortable for us...55-58 years old. The TV, although a very big size, is a bit outdated and the remote was very difficult to use. It had USB ports that had no access from the controls. These were very minor issues in the grand scheme of things and easily remedied.
The location was perfect for our needs. This was our first trip to Scotland and wanted to visit Sterling Castle, Glasgow, and Edinburgh during our 10 day visit. Having a full kitchen and a very comfortable super-king bed made our stay stress free. Amazon Prime and Netflix were included.

To have again another problem with the heating and boiler on my last night. The boiler problem my husband fixed after restarting the same. I sent a message to the property asking someone went to fix the heating. The agency apologised for the matter and told me that I would send someone to fix it. When I got at night at the house, it was really cold, and they didn't bother in fixing the problem at all. Conclusion I was in a really cold house, with just a duvet that it was not warm to keep us warm, and we didn't even have a spare blanket there for this kind of situation. Due to that situation, on the next day, I awake up with a cold and my husband with back pain due to lack of heating.
I have rented the house for five nights, and when I got there, the heating and the boiler weren't working at all. After sending a message to the agency, they sent me an engineer the next day, and he fixed the problem. The house had everything for you to cook, it was quite central and you could easily access it with public transport to Glasgow and Edinburgh. The bed was comfortable and the house it was nice when the heating was working. I advise everyone to take a warm blanket, and I will explain below why.

It was a nice place however host was quite unresponsive to a few questions and also there were a lot of dirty items in the place which I wasn’t happy with as I had to clean them.

3/4 chairs had loose legs, table had a badly broken leg, wall ornament was clearly broken, chairs were old, stuffing falling down leaving you sitting on a ring of wood, shower pressure was low, two shelves in bathroom were very loose

I think the price is reasonable, but if can be reduced that would be better

The property was clean and very nice. It felt homely and very convenient for the family. It’s located in a very nice and quiet place. We enjoyed our stay and given the opportunity we would stay there again.
