Due to phone probs I could not receive the codes to get in and had to ask the girl working in the bar next door to run upstairs and get codes and parking sheet. She was very kind and it would have been in quite a predicament

The room was very warm with a small window open for ventilation. The fan provided was very noisy to use at night, and not really efficient for the summer heat. Although I liked that parking was included, it wasn't clear how close to the accommodation that was at the time of booking. We were aware that access was up stairs but other guests should be aware that all rooms are situated from the first floor up to ours which was on the third floor.

I liked that parking was included. Check in was simple with the key codes being shared by text. The room was clean and equipped for our needs. Tea and coffee, clean towels and extra bedding were available. It is centrally located so a great base for our trip.

The walls are so thin, i was kept awake until about 4:30 am as you could hear people snoring in the next room and every time someone flushed a toilet

Parking was a little far from the property. Fan that was provided made an awful noice which made it unusable at times. We stayed when it was up to 30 degrees which was not ideal.

Location was great. Definitely good value for money. Easy check in process. Room was very spacious.

Carpets everywhere which amazes me in England - there were even carpets on the stairs and at the entrance to the building. It's impossible to keep them properly clean.

Very good location, we stayed one night and had a good sleep. Big plus for a free car park (it's not so close to the building though, you need to have a walk to the parking). Big bathroom for our room. Good value for money in Lake District.

Great location for all amenities in Ambleside and a great base for local walks and transport. We have stayed here before, and the property is clean and spacious with great housekeeping and a good supply of tea, coffee, and hot chocolate.

For two people, the room size was cozy and perfectly adequate. Though slightly compact, this is typical for accommodations in old town areas and contributes to the authentic experience of staying in such a quaint and historic location. The hotel offers free parking, which is a great perk. But the parking is located a bit farther away.

I had stay at this hotel, perfectly situated in the heart of the town center. Its prime location makes it incredibly convenient, with the supermarket, restaurants, and other local attractions all within walking distance. The small-town setting adds a unique charm and makes exploring the area a truly enjoyable experience. The room features a modern electronic lock system, and the owner promptly provided the passcode via message and email, ensuring a smooth and hassle-free check-in process.

The Electronic locks are a pain in the neck. Change them please. Car parking provided is great but a long walk from apartment. Just glad it was good weather. Suggest you pack only what you need for a night to carry there.

No storage for our clothes, room was a lot smaller than the photos (guess you used wide angle lenses for the photos which is deceiving) and there were false nails on the top of our bed frame when arriving so worry to room wasn’t properly cleaned before we arrived.

It would be nice if there was a reception area where someone could greet you and check you in.

I stayed for two nights at Ambleside Central (Sunday 13th and Monday 14th April 2025) and was happy with my time there. I stayed in room 7, which was at the rear of the property, which meant it was quiet. The building is located on Lake Road, which is often busy with traffic for most of the day, so if your room is front facing, you will probably hear traffic from your room and hear people walking and conversing along the street. To find Ambleside Central, if arriving by bus, do the following: when you arrive at the main bus interchange at Ambleside (where there are two bus shelters), simply walk up to the top of that road and you are on Lake Road, then turn left and across the road you will see the main door to Ambleside Central, beside a fish and chip shop, called the Codfather. There is a sign right next to the door indicating it is Ambleside Central. The Lily Bar is to the right of the fish and chip shop. Ambleside Central is very easy to find. On the day I was due to check in at Ambleside Central, I was given two codes by text message on Whatsapp. Each code has a set of four numbers ending with a hashtag symbol #. I received them around 3pm, once my room was ready. The first code is for entering the main front door to the building and the second code is for entering the room where you will be sleeping. There are no keys and no-one to greet you when you arrive, though sometimes there are cleaning staff still around. The door will make a buzzing noise when unlocked. The door handles are modern, hi-tech and black in colour and have numbers on them. When you press a number on the door handle, all the numbers suddenly activate and light up clearly in blue – which indicates it’s ready for you to enter your code number. For entering your room, you press the relevant numbers to enter your code number and end it with the hashtag # symbol and then lift the handle up completely and push it down completely – but do not be rough with it. Then you enter your room.
