Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomWe couldn't find a tea pot.
Location was perfect for us in a quiet village with 2 pubs a shop, cafe and church close to many of the Cotswold's best towns. We had our own parking space right outside the front door. There was butter and bread provided for us.

United KingdomTV was on the smaller side. It would have been a nice touch if they provided shower gel & shampoo or at least mentioned it was not going to be available.
Perfect location, quiet street, cosy and comfortable. Helpful reading material about local walks. Excellent cafe / restaurant next to the local shop, had a lovely meal served by friendly staff. The church nearby was a peaceful place.

United KingdomIt would be great if the TV were larger and the seating around it extended to fit more than 4 comfortably. We couldn't figure out how to get the heating up but maybe that was just us! There is a lot of building work going on as a new development is being built a stone's throw from the cottage. The road was blocked on a number of occasions while lorries were loading/unloading construction materials and this impeded access to/from the cottage both on foot and in the car. It wasn't a huge problem for us as we were never in a rush and we were not disturbed by noise. The baking pan in the oven was a bit greasy and could do with a good scrub.
A comfortable little cottage in a lovely location. The beds were great and we didn't want for much. The provision of milk, bread and butter were much appreciated as were the inclusion of basics like oil, salt, sugar, washing up liquid and dishwasher tablets. I echo what others have said here: the local cafe is amazing and we had a few delicious meals there. There are some wonderful long walks to be had locally. Provision of Netflix was gratefully received. We enjoyed our stay very much indeed.

United KingdomNot really the fault of the property but it can be difficult to park. If other residents reversed up to the building rather than parking side on it would be much easier and more could get parked!
Fabulous location. Really cosy and far bigger than we expected. Nicely done out and with good range of kitchen utensils etc. Blockley Cafe is so handy and wonderful too.

United KingdomNone of the bedroom windows could be opened meaning no fresh air. No wastepaper bins in bedrooms. TV was very small and although we appreciate it is trying to be in keeping with the age of the property it really is a very small tv. The 10am checkout meaning arrival at 3pm and leaving at 10am two days later was cut short. No bookings following our stay - no flexibility to access earlier or leave the property later - 10am on a Sunday means getting up at 830am to ensure leaving on time.
Location in lovely village though says it's in Moreton in the Marsh on Booking.com - it's not it's in Blockley which is about 3 miles from Moreton. Very clean, comfortable, great bed linen, well equipped, central to beautiful walks and where Father Brown is filmed each year. Friendly locals and excellent local cafe one minute's walk away. Local water which can be drunk straight from the ground from a running source near the property.

Beautiful cottage with everything you need in the centre of this lovely Cotswold village. The house is well equipped and attractively decorated. It's a very comfortable base for exploring the area. The village cafe, just a stroll away, does excellent breakfasts and is right next to a well stocked food shop.

United KingdomThere was nothing we didn’t like. Couple of things to note. There is parking at the front of the property but this is on a first come first served basis. The village can get pretty busy so you may have to hunt for parking. Secondly, although the cottage is dog friendly there is no garden so it may be an issue for some.
Spotlessly clean and well appointed. Rooms were spacious and the kitchen fully equipped with everything we needed. The village is quiet and quaint but has a couple of good pubs and a great cafe that is open for breakfast, lunch & dinner.

United KingdomWould have benefited from a microwave, more than one key and having a back door key. Be prepared for church chimes every half hour and whilst parking not ideal we managed fine. Could have been a bit cleaner downstairs.
