We ate in the bar area which was little bare, and basic looking. It could have been a bit more cosy and inviting.

The location was handy as it was close to the A68. We used the Barrasford Arms as an overnight stop on a journey from the Scottish highlands to London. It was easy to find and had plenty parking. The owners were very friendly and the bar well stocked. Food was plain but tasty. Our room was large and very clean.

The duvet was a little heavy for summer. Not sure about chopped tomatoes in a pot as part of the breakfast.

The owner went out of her way to get us decaffeinated coffee, which we appreciated. Everything met our needs including dinner and breakfast. The breakfast sausage was really good. Still and Sparkling bottled water provided was a nice touch.

Not a dislike just perhaps a better way to order breakfast on arrival. Also arrived at the hotel early but didn’t realise it didn’t actually open till 4pm but again, not a dislike, just something to note

Room was lovely with great facilities. Good to take the dog also. Staff very friendly. Outside seating area was great. Reasonable price for food and drink in the bar, breakfast was lovely with perfect poached eggs

Wasn’t previously aware that the bar and restaurant were closed on Monday and Tuesday night. The owner did open up bar to provide a drink to guests but no food available.

Lovely location, staff, and locals very friendly. Breakfasts looked good, as I don’t eat breakfast cannot comment on taste.

A good hearty English breakfast with quality ingredients, which meant I didn't require any lunch. Room is spacious and comfortable, bed was outstanding

Breakfast very good but no cereals. A breakfast list with tick boxes should be provided. Bed too low down.

A nice village location. Our room overlooks towards Houghton Castle. Friendly staff. Evening meal was not provided that day as there was a trailer bbq outside. They are closed on Sundays (bar and food) but not b&b so have to go to a nearby village for meal at a pub.

The property address was advertised as being in Hexham. It wasn’t. I maybe should have checked the post code but as I wasn’t intending to drive but use public transport, I didn’t think it necessary. I feel this was very misleading as Barrasford was not mentioned. In the event there were only 3 buses a day which didn’t fit my trains, so I ended up hiring a car to give me some flexibility. An expensive overnight stay. I could never tell which end was which if the hall/stairway door at the front was shut! My too My double room was well equipped with a lovely view, which were a bit spoilt by the perpetual smell of diesel oil; it was very hot so the fumes from the tank below rose into the room, our hosts can’t help the weather!

Good sized rooms, accessible on ground floor(although I didn’t see any ground floor rooms or lift). 0% G…(the dark stuff)!

As in most hotels,bathroom needed more shelves and hooks to hang things on! A few more coat hangers would also have been good.

Excellent location within easy reach of all Northumberland attractions,particularly Hadrian's Wall and all things Roman . Our room was double aspect with good views over a pond which was home to a mother goose and her adolescent goslings. Owners were friendly and helpful. Room and bed both comfortable.

Description of location appeared to state the hotel was in Hexham but probably was overlooked at the time of booking and there was some confusion with the Sat-Nav but easily resolved by phoning the hotel

The bed was low. As a more elderly couple we found it a struggle to get up off the bed in the morning.

The food was excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was very well appointed. The bed was comfortable. Bathroom facilities were very good.

Was a bit strange, was closed on a Mon and Tues ( to public) this wasn't made aware when booking. No menu for breakfast ( I dont norm do breki) however would expect to be able to sit ( how hard can it be to stick a couple of tables together put out some cereals a toaster, bread and customers choose what they want) and a menu on table for cooked options.. Nothing like this was avail you had to pre order saying what you wanted ( not knowing what they had) down to if you wanted a weetabix or not?? Also no menu for dinner jyst got told they had fish, lasagne, hunters chicken and gamon for my 3 night stay, never saw a menu a price etc or anything so very strange.. Shame as place could be a goldmine just needs some direction and hopefully feedback from Customers ( and not taking it badly but using it constructively) as was on the whole a nice stay also the face cloth and soap in room is a positive and nice touch

Location great if walking Hadrians wall, room Was really comfortable /clean and I loved the duvet covet, was nice and soft, owners were lovely.
