    The bed was comfy

Whoever was working that night was checking rooms early hours of the morning. Making a lot of noise and moving furniture. Then went back down the stairs and back up to check more. I was awake for hours then and couldn't sleep..... there should be more consideration for sleeping guests!!..... bathroom also not cleaned tidy. Still toothpaste in the sink from previous guests

Looked nice on website. That’s where it ended

Rooms were dark dingy, smelt of damp and the first room smelt of faeces before we asked to switch. Don’t think the rooms had ever been dusted. Flooring was damaged. Shower head didn’t stay up it had to be held to use it. The beer garden was full of overflowing ashtrays and debris all over the floor. Waited an hour to be served in the bar and decided to give up as only one staff member and they were checking in guests. The one beer we had had all crud at the bottom. Breakfast was just cheap products only serving “continental” option with very overdone boiled eggs. Wished we paid extra to stay at a cleaner place.

it describes on the website 0.7 mile what a joke it was a 15 + minute drive away ...even the taxi driver told me to lock my suitcase on the way in and told us that it's a really bad place

If booking. Com had told the true distance I would not have booked then to be told a couple booked for £41 the same night wow I paid £146 there was staples holding the blinds to the window frame it was grubby the walls was stained and it had a terrible smell

    Property response:

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are very sorry to hear that your stay did not meet your expectations. We would like to clarify that on our Booking.com page, the distance is stated correctly: our hotel is approximately 1.7 miles from St. George’s Hall and the World Museum. If you are travelling from the Liver Building, which is located by the riverside, the distance is indeed longer at about 2.8 miles. When you contacted us regarding directions, our receptionist explained several easy ways of reaching the hotel, including public transport and taxi options with indicative prices. We are surprised to hear the comments made by your taxi driver, as they do not reflect the reality of our location. Our hotel is situated in a multicultural residential neighbourhood, where our staff regularly walk to and from work at all hours without issues. For further reassurance, the local police station is just around the corner. Regarding the room price, we can confirm that no rooms were sold for £41 on the Saturday night of your stay. Our rates vary depending on demand and availability, but the price you paid was consistent with the market for that date. Our night staff, who accompanied you to your room, did not detect any unpleasant odour at the time. However, as our property dates back to 1861, warmer temperatures can occasionally bring out a faint “old building” smell. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention and will continue monitoring it. Lastly, thank you for highlighting the issue with the blinds. We can confirm that maintenance work is already in progress to ensure this is resolved promptly. While we respect your opinion, we do not feel that a 1-point review fairly reflects your overall stay, as your room was clean and prepared for your arrival, you enjoyed our complimentary breakfast, and our staff treated you with respect and assisted you whenever needed. We truly value your feedback, as it helps us improve. Kind regards, Beech Mount Hotel

Friendly polite staff and clean rooms

Whole building is tired and could do with a makeover. Breakfast wasn’t the best. Took 10-15 minutes to check in and when we wanted a drink at the bar, the young lady was checking guests in so we didn’t bother in the end

The receptionist and the gentleman in the breakfast area were pleasant.

Carpets in the communal area were not hoovered. Curtain rings in the bedroom were snapped so curtains couldn't close. Quite claustrophobic in the room. Bed has seen a lot of traffic and lots of stains on the quilt cover. Neither of us could sleep under the quilt. In fact, I was afraid to pull the quilt back. Ashtrays every were that where over flowing. The photograph shows an awful stains on top of the "clean" bedding. The garden off dining area has beautiful unkempt passiflora and jasmine plants and tons of cigarettes butts 🤮🤮

The staff were very friendly and welcoming, made it a lovely stay.

Our room was very warm as the window couldn't be opened, did have a fan which helped a little bit.
