Room a bit shabby. Bar food and breakfast poor. Muesli would be nice at breakfast.

Comfy bed. Good shower. Dog friendly.

The Bell Hotel is an ideal base to explore the Forest of Dean and the surrounding area. It is clean!

We found the quilts to be heavy and a little undersize for the bed. On our final morning, food was a little slow at coming out to the servery - it didn't seem as there was much communication between the 'servers' and the kitchen. Reception desk empty upon arrival? Saturday morning 'servers' did not pay attention to the quests rather they stood at the bar talking and joking and when asked if they could fill up the bread box (empty) one came looking like thunder and at that point decided to fill up the juices which were also close to being empty. But that said, we did enjoy our stay!

All the food we tasted was extremely good. The 'servers' on the first night excelled our expectations.

Very noisily place, people have no self-awareness. Around 23:50, someone was banging their room door. Before 7 a.m., a truck was already passing under our window and is a golf club. That truck could choose any other path far from the roons to go. And obviously, the golfers were already playing a 7am.

Maxine, at the reception, she is formidable. The location is excellent to walk to the town.

The hot tap got very very hot, very fast, so we had to only use cold water to wash hands/ faces. Breakfast was a bit limited for myself as a vegetarian- there was only one friend egg left so I had that with French toast and beans only.

Fabulous location, our room looked out into the golf course which was stunning. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Room was clean and bed was comfortable. Food from the clubhouse was of very good quality and value.

Squeaky floors right outside bedroom door. Kept being woken up during the night when people came back in late. Breakfast was not good especially for the price.

Lovely golf course right outside the hotel. Amenities close by and a short drive into town, where we found a lovely Indian restaurant.

It's just a bit of a run-down place overall with outdated decor. The main lobby area is just old and feels a bit grungy. As I mentioned, the room has some updates that are nice but our room got very little air circulation even with the window fully open and chilly air outside, our room was baking. We got a fan from the front desk and had to blast it the whole time but we were grateful for it. Hallway sounds are incredibly loud inside the bedroom, just to note if you are a light sleeper, it will sound like people are constantly walking into your room.

Location is perfect for Puzzlewood and Sydmonds Yat, the golf course is stunning with a beautiful sunset, and the clubhouse has a lot of outdoor seating and fantastic food. Staff was great, the food selection was impressive and it was really good! We liked that the bed was big! It's an American king size [two twins pushed together] and they've updated the pillows and linens which is nice. Wifi was great and you can rent e-bikes from here which was awesome.

The room was shabby. Cracked and stained tiles in the bathroom. Strained ceiling in the bedroom. a small room fridge would've been nice. Close to club house so noisy, although some of the singing was quite entertaining. There was no water on the table at breakfast, had go to the bar to get some. The food wasn't filled regularly, so people were kept waiting. They did find some milk free spread when asked.

    Location was great for us
