Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomNothing.
Gorgeous! So wonderfully restored and very tastefully done. We BBQ’d all 4 nights we were there. Kitchen was really well equipped. Beds comfortable. Showers were great. Washing machine and dryer were a nice add. Well fenced in and we were fully confident with our dog (but cheeky ones could get through the front gate gaps). So so quiet. Nice walks along the single track road each night. Well positioned to drive to the slaughters and Bourton. You will really feel relaxed and left on your own here. Operable skylights throughout allowed us to cool the place down really well during a significant heatwave (33 degrees Celsius) during our stay which allows us to sleep comfortably!

United KingdomSituated in an area of outstanding beauty with panoramic views of the countryside Bills Cottage is a fabulous place to stay. Mary, the owner who lives next door, welcomed us with Homemade cake, bread, milk, eggs and flowers which offered the personal touch. The cottage itself is spacious, well equipped and furnished to a high standard. The large garden is enclosed which was perfect for our dog. We were blessed with fantastic weather so made use of the outdoor dining area. All in all, we would definitely recommend Bill's Cottage to anyone wanting a peaceful holiday in a beautiful area.

United KingdomBill's Cottage was perfect for our family getaway. Lovely tranquil surroundings but only a short drive to busier areas. We found everything that we needed in the cottage and it was clean and comfortable. Mary is an excellent host.

United KingdomNothing, would return in a headtbeat. Everything was just perfect 🥰
Loved the layout of the cottage. Had everything you needed and then some. Lovely touches in the cottage such as a packet of polos left to feed Finn, the horse who put in a daily appearance at the kitchen window.

United KingdomOur sat Nav took us to the wrong address, a farm with a very similar name about 11km away (near the Kilkenny Inn). The farmer said this happens alot. We had to use what3words, with the maps function, to get the actual location of Bill's Cottage.
Fantastic cottage in a perfect location to explore the cotswolds. Our host Mary was brilliant and made us feel very welcome. We had a really lovely family getaway with the dog as well. The cottage was beautiful and really well equipped. We all enjoyed warming by the log fire after long walks and days out. We will definitely stay at Bill's Cottage again.

United KingdomThe only thing i didn't like was having to leave .
It was a perfect stay . We arrived to a fresh loaf of bread, some eggs, and a wonderful large cake . The host Mary was very helpful, and the cottage was well equipped. Nespresso coffee machine. Lovely log stove that warmed the lounge quickly. Two showers and underfloor heating.

United KingdomOne of, if not the best cottage I have stayed in. The pictures really don’t do this wonderful place justice. It was very easy to check in with a lock box at the side of the front door. Mary is a fantastic host, she lets you settle in before coming to check if everything is ok and to give some useful information about the cottage (heating etc). She also baked a beautiful cake and left fresh bread and eggs for us, a very thoughtful and welcoming gesture. The cottage itself is private, spacious, comfy and warm with every utensil and appliance you could think of. There is also a gated drive and private garden which was a bonus as we took our dog. The location is brilliant. Within 30 minutes to Cirencester, 20 minutes to Stow-on-the-Wold and only 10 minutes to Bourton-on-the-Water. Would highly recommend Bill’s Cottage to anyone looking for a comfortable, hassle free stay.
