Asked for a cot for a 2 year old, wasn’t in the room when arrived. Asked again before we headed to town for tea (5pm), returned 8pm, still not in room. Chased reception again, received cot shortly after, mesh sides ripped with hole big enough for baby to escape but put against wall to solve issue. Cot had no mattress, so bottom was rock hard. No bedding linen provided or available suitable for cots, expecting my child to sleep directly on bottom of cot as other users perhaps have (hygiene concern??). Took a single sheet from them as all they had and used pillows from chairs to make a mattress! Not great service for families needing cots.

My husband asked for his steak to be cooked medium rare and it came out well done, so unfortunately we had to ask for this to be sent back to be re-done - although the girl was very apologetic for this, helpful and understanding in sorting ☺️ At times the service was a little bit slow in the evening and at breakfast. We had to wait approx 15 mins to get a table in the morning for breakfast

After finding out it was our 1y wedding anniversary we had a complimentary room upgrade from a classic room to a garden suite! The room was really comfortable and lovely. They were very helpful in the restaurant asking the chef details of some of the dishes (am currently pregnant) Really friendly, chatty and helpful staff 😊 particularly the lovely girl in the restaurant (we didn’t get your name!) but you were so lovely and helpful! Beautiful gardens and surroundings - so peaceful/tranquil!

Everything . Location is just perfect, quiet and remote in Borrowdale valley , the building is beautiful and the room (no 19) was an amazing size and perfectly clean and had everything we needed. The view from our room was to the garden and over the garden there was a field full of sheep which we absolutely loved . Breakfast was great. Parking was always available and the hotel grounds are amazing all round . If you like a quiet hotel deep in nature this is the one for you . Would gladly go again

Fantastic hotel - spectacular location, great for hiking and access to other villages nearby. The staff were very organised (and friendly!) with their service. The room was very comfortable with fabulous views. Brilliant food. Cosy lounge area with board games (a nice touch). We really enjoyed this stay and look forward to returning. Thank you to all the staff for making it so special.

Bathroom configuration, awkward. You have to squeeze between bathroom doors and shower to enter bathroom, go to the sink and only then you can close the doors. Bathroom floor wasn’t properly cleaned, lots of buildup dust and hair in the corners, but considering configuration perhaps it is difficult to clean.

The toilets were not cleaned between 9pm and 11am the following morning. Also the upholstery was dirty in the dining room. The chairs in the folds were full of crumbs

No fridge in room , garden area needs more tables and chairs , I would have preferred a walk in shower in stead of a bath with the shower over it , hate climbing in and out . No ironing board in room but you can ask for one

The staff are lovely !! Apart from one gentleman who is quite abrupt!! He was not rude but he does not make you feel comfortable. The views are amazing , the quality of food was good . Bed was comfortable

We had a very enjoyable stay at your hotel. The room was lovely, clean, well appointed. The staff were professional yet friendly and helpful. The food was wonderful, both breakfast and evening meals. Lovely quiet location yet not far from Keswick.

Though the rooms were comfortable, they could do with a proper cleanup. For example- bathroom vent was coated with dust, spiderwebs were seen on ceiling, carpet feels dusty. Moreover, door leading to terrace could not be locked.

Good location, friendly staff, ample parking, breakfast provided and dinner was good. Peaceful surroundings.
