I feel the property is a bit overpriced. While the setting is beautiful, you do still have a carpark and soccer field in your line of site, so it’s not as secluded and remote as the photos lead you to believe. The sauna that you could book for a private session was a lovely idea, but didn’t quite warm up very much. Rooms had great air conditioning and heating but felt a bit claustrophobic as there were no windows to open and leaving the main door open let too many bugs in. Overall a nice experience but wouldn’t likely stay for more than one night.

Beautiful hotel setting with lovely small, quaint cabins. View at sunset was lovely and great breakfast included.

Everything was superb! There were no complaints.

Excellent: The location, the staff, and the lobby, bar and restaurant were incredible. One day during our stay, the bar and restaurant were closed due to some technical issue, but other than that, those facilities were great. During that day, the hotel let our group eat takeaway in the lobby. Good: The room. It was a beautiful, cozy space, but we could not figure out how to heat the room beyond the bathroom floor heater/towel rack. We ended up just leaving the bathroom door open to heat the rest of the room, but it worked really well and kept us toasty.

Not well signaled off the road - unfinished look when entering - parts off bath room coming off - no phone in the room to contact desk - due to understaffing closed restaurant - some inexperienced staff

View - architecture - Interieur and exterior- concept - cozy lounge - diner food - nice staff

Staff were not very friendly. There was only 1 person for the very small front desk and when they stepped away no one else was available to attend to guests.

Breakfast was supper yummy . The cabins were cosy clean and very comfortable. Totally exceeded our expectations.

At this price point we expected dinner to be included. Our experience with other lodges at this price range is to have breakfast and evening meal at least included.

fantastic location with beautiful views. Staff very accommodating to get us and our luggage to and from little huts with the golf carts thankyou. Beautiful meals in the evening and very obliging bar people :-)

The room is really a small cabin over a hill. The cabins are very well oriented so each one has its own privacy. The restaurant in the main building is very good also, and we enjoyed breakfast very much.

There were a few service-related issues that impacted our experience. The bar was closed on our second night, so we weren’t able to enjoy a drink. The coffee machine was also out of order during breakfast, so only filter coffee was available. Room servicing was quite minimal—our bed was made, but there were no fresh towels, bottled water, or toilet paper provided. It felt like the hotel may be running on a very lean team, which affected the level of attention to guest needs.

Bracken Hide Hotel has a lot to offer in terms of atmosphere and setting. The cosy cabins up on the hill created a peaceful and private retreat, with beautiful views all around. The main hotel building was equally impressive, featuring large glass windows that made the most of the scenery. We also really enjoyed the bar on our first night—it was warm, inviting, and a great place to unwind. While the walk between the cabins and the main hotel could be tricky in the rain, there was a buggy available and a helpful staff member on hand to assist with luggage, which made a difference.

The hotel is probably badly managed, many things were broken or missing. The sauna was broken all 4 days, the restaurant was closed for dinner most of days.

It’s a special unique hotel, with each room in its own pod. Great restaurant for dinner.

The attitude of the restaurant manager on the first evening spoilt our arrival. Sauna should be preheated when booked as it took 30 mins of the hour to get anywhere near warm.

A bit of steep price that I’m not sure is warranted Being on cabin #3 which is one of the farthest ones it is quite a hike to be doing regularly honestly. Wasn’t even asked if I had any physical issues with it before assigning that cabin.

The only negative was that your vehicle is parked a walk away from the pods. Although they provide a golf buggy service to transport your luggage on arrival it’s not ideal.

Pods were excellent, very comfortable. The sauna and plunge pool were brilliant! Perfect for us as we are cold water dippers. Restaurant was lovely, breakfast was particularly good. The hotel Also left a small gift for me in the pod as the stay was for my 50th birthday - was a very thoughtful touch and much appreciated.

Aspects of the physical plant were defective. Toilet seat unsteady ( not fun!) and bedside lamps fell apart.

The hotel is super stylish in a good way and at the same time casual. The pods on the hillside are novel and very fun. The natural setting is beautiful.

Design of Ensuites could be improved. Round Handbasin and position of this, limits the space and ability to move more freely in the bathroom.

Brilliant concept with accommodation in tiny wooden cabins set into hillside and overlooking Portree and the ocean. Cabins are stylishly decorated and have an ensuite. Really comfortable beds and the cabin was so snug. Main building (Reception, Lounge and Restaurant) is beautifully designed. Did not eat at Restaurant at night but did have breakfast (included in price of accommodation), which was great. We were assisted to our cabin (at check-in and check-out), by a Porter what carried us and our luggage in a buggy.

Our only comment is that the hotel was VERY short of staff. Breakfast took longer than expected since there was only one server. Check-in gal was very quick to check us in with little details. (we weren't even sure which was our pod since the signs outside were incorrect_). The staff will did interact with were very nice.

Our pod and its comfort was exceptional. Enjoyed its coziness, the amenities, the heated bathroom floor and the comfy bed.

Beautiful Place to stay (even if not as isolated as expected from the photos), great food and drinks in the hotel restaurant & bar. We had some issues with the Air con the first night, but they solved it without much fuss and to our fullest satisfaction. Best staff, nicest bar lady, all of them very friendly! Thanks to all of you at Bracken Hide.

There were issues with our cabin. Bulbs from the lamps needed changing. Some of the lights were broken (couldn’t turn off unless you jammed the switch - hence unused during our stay).

If you shower when multiple other pods are using the water, the hot water runs out very quickly, My partner had a shower before we went for dinner and got halfway through before running out of hot water, he had to boil the kettle and fill the sink just to be able to wash the shampoo out of his hair, we found that you had to get up early to be able to complete a shower with hot water. The overall value for the pod was quite pricey seeming the issue with the hot water and also our pod had a missing wardrobe handle and an inside light that did not work at all. The pathway for the pods was dimly lit at night so could be a struggle for people staying in the further away pods.

The food in the restaurant. Good breakfast options. The location. The pod. The staff were friendly. The view from the pod. The view from the restaurant.
