Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. The location was perfect for our visit to Stirling, Bannockburn, Falkirk and Doune Castle. It was lovely to be able to retreat to a more peaceful location after the busy tourist attractions. The property is very comfortable and clean and all on one level which our worn out seniors' knees appreciated after climbing steps all day! Although we didn't meet our hosts, they ensured we were okay by messaging us.

You should note that the local Co-op Supermarket in Bridge of Allan just closed yesterday (Aug 10th) for renovations (tear down & rebuild). So for complete grocery shopping, you will either need a car or be hopping the train down to Sterling.
The Elfin is a lovely little flat, so well located just 5 minutes walk to Bridge of Allan station and the pretty high street, with great pubs, cafes and shops. Everything is super-comfortable with the flat and the kitchen is very well equipped (much better than you expect in most short term rentals!) Clare and Richard are wonderful hosts and helped make our stay there really enjoyable.

Nothing! Everything amazing!
Property was bright, airy and immaculate throughout. Had everything you needed in kitchen. Bed really comfy. Owners really pleasant and there were wee treats left (tunnocks, milk etc!). We were there for graduation at university and this was in a really handy location with lots of local amenities.

Perfect location for the train station,great country walks on your doorstep.Loved the small welcome pack of groceries to tidy us over.Very nice hosts who welcome you upon arrival.Apartment is ideal for a couple perfect size for a week's stay with a nice size comfy bed and bedroom.

Perfect well appointed wee flat, 5 mins walk to train station and the lovely shops, restaurants and cafes of Bridge of Allan. Hosts were very friendly and welcoming and are on site if you need anything. We stayed a couple of nights to visit family but it’s an ideal base for exploring the Stirling area.

I was arriving, without a car, before the check in time. Host very kindly advised I could drop bags off anyway, and then advised flat was ready for my arrival. Well equipped, spacious and close to the train station. Very friendly hosts.

Bedroom window could probably use one of those privacy blinds so the owners can use their back yard and guests can have some natural light in the bedroom but it isn’t a deal breaker. The whole apartment is wonderful.
Amazing find in a very quiet part of the residential area of Bridge of Allan. Walking distance to the shops and train, this beautifully clean and well appointed apartment is perfect for a couple of solo traveller. Awesome to be able to cook dinner and wash clothes while away!!

We're so glad that we opted to stay here rather than a hotel. We couldn't have asked for more. Clare and Richard, the friendly owners who live in the main house have thought of absolutely everything that guests might need...from a hairdryer, kitchen utensils, tea, coffee, fresh milk in the fridge and even a bowlful of TUNNOCK TEACAKES (my favourite), there was nothing amiss. We also really appreciated the quietness of the place and hope to return when we next visit.
