Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe room had no windows, which I knew about before I booked. Although that doesn't bother me, it meant the room was extremely hot. Fans were provided in the room but they need to be constantly on all day and all through the night. The plug sockets weren't in very well planned places. I had to have my phone on charge at the other side of the room and my alarm was set, but, because we had to use the fans through the night, I didnt hear my alarm very well the next morning. I know the location isn't the hotel's fault, but the street it is on is very secluded and there seemed to be a few dodgy people hanging around, which made it a bit intimidating for a woman on her own (with her child). There is a short walk to the main street, but because of some street works, it's currently an alley.
The room was reasonably priced and central. The beds were very comfortable and the room size was quite large.

CyprusThe street is dirty (even worse than average dirt of Manchester), there are stairs at the entrance (crawl with your luggage), smells of soap everywhere, toilet on the ground floor is behind code lock (2017). Pillows are overstuffed (too high). Almost no sockets in the room, there is nothing near the bed, so charging is a problem. All staff talks with heavy accent and is a bit rough (including mildly annoying jokes). There is a lot of unfriendly banners in the lobby (harassment won't be tolerated, police will be called, ID must be presented or you won't stay there, etc - nothing specific, but I don't like threats even if they are not applied to me). Check-out/check-in gap is huge (10 am checkout, 15 check-in).
The family room is well partitioned and kid was happy, there are opening windows to get a bit more fresh air, beds are okay, bathroom is clean and operational, ceiling is high. Room is stuffed with kettle/tea/milk. There was no issues with family check-in and holding luggage before/after check-in/out. Location is good for center reachability, but the exact hotel location somewhat a slum, but 50 meters, and the center is there.

United KingdomOn the 6th floor room was nice but it was too warm in the room even with air conditioning on and a fan. When I told a member of staff they said it was centralised and they couldn’t control the heat in individual rooms . Windows couldn’t be open enough to get a decent enough breeze through the windows
Location was great , close to everything

United KingdomOur room was boiling (we booked a no windows room), but we had two fans which made up for it. Would be better to have air con. Lights were quite dim (there were four bedside lamps). Sometimes the toilet wouldn't flush properly.
Beds were comfy. Best bit was the downstairs lobby with the live turtles in the pond, and the bar.

Irelandthe room was sweltering. I understand that a lack of windows was advertised but that shouldnt mean that our makeup was melting off our faces and it was extremely uncomfortable to be in that room. we could not wait to check out. Also, there were fans provided but all that did was push the hot air around the room.
it was an amazing location and had facilities such as a hairdresser, fan, and kettle.

United KingdomThe lift at the front of the hotel was broken, I could only access the hotel with a member of staff via the service entrance which was on a side street, going through the service bay there were broken glass coffee tables and the street seriously smelt of piss & drugs. Decided if there was an emergency it was safer not to stay. The staff did help to get us a refund through Booking.com
