Tea served after dinner and at breakfast weak and tasteless.

Great location and relaxing environment, the food and the staff were excellent.

A lovely hotel in a great location

We had to wait for almost half an hour to check in, this despite arriving at the hotel within our pre-selected time slot. This was due to the only member of staff available at this time serving a large group of non-residents in the bar, before attending to guests at the check in desk. We ate in the restaurant on the first evening. There was an extensive menu and the food was tasty, but it was very expensive for what was actually on the plate and the portions quite small. I don't usually order desert when eating out but I needed to on this occasion as I was still hungry after my main. The hotel in general seemed to be much more expensive than when we stayed a few years ago. Bar prices seemed high and the price of rooms expensive. No wonder the vacancies sign was displayed throughout our stay. We will probably stay at the Caerwylan again, due to the great location, but will have to save up for a good while first and avoid eating in the restaurant.

The hotel is in a great location, overlooking the seafront and the beach, though neither of our rooms had a sea view. The hotel was very clean and the furnishings were of a high quality and well maintained. The staff were very polite and friendly. A lovely breakfast was included; a mix of buffet items and freshly prepared hot dishes.

There was a lovely garden area with chairs and tables but no parasols. Normally it wouldn't matter but we stayed during a heatwave and it would have been so nice to sit out. No bar snack menu at lunchtime. P.s. if you want fish and chips, Castle Fish and chips is really good. It has long opening hours - lunchtime and evening but be prepared to queue.

Hotel was lovely. The staff were very helpful and efficient. The hotel was in a lovely location, right on the beach with wonderful views. Breakfast was very good.

Very comfortable well run hotel. Spacious room and en suite. Meal in the evening was to an exceptionally high standard. The hotel is very well situated for the beach and the town. Amazing views of the castle and coastline. Would recommend and return.

Stay only spoiled by the early checkout and the appalling service offered by Transport for Wales

The only downside was the ridiculously early checkout time of 10am . Most hotels have a 11am or 12 noon checkout. Apart from this the whole experience was very good

rooms had been recently renovated to a good standard which certainly exceeded my expectation. usually in Wales hotels look tired

Our room was ok in size, but it's an old building and decor a bit dated in the rooms, but otherwise all perfectly charming.

Lovely friendly staff and hotel was in a great location. We were only there two nights so a very brief stay, but the location was excellent breakfast was good and provided for all our needs. Shower in bathroom was good.

The rooms could have had a bit more decoration in them to lift the ambience as they are quite functional.

The staff were very helpful, attentive and friendly. There were enough staff on duty all the time making for good service. The location is great. The Criccieth bay is small and the hotel ideally positioned with an outdoor area and lounge that overlook the bay.

Absolutely fab hotel..with a beach on its doorstep and view of the castle on the hill. Staff were lovely and the food in the restaurant was amazing. It has a very well stocked bar with numerous varieties of spirits and wines and also a large selection of welsh ones!. We only stayed for one night but wish we had been able to stay longer. There is limited parking at the hotel but there are some spaces just an easy short walk away . Hopefully be back again soon!

No car park as such but free parking on the sea front just below - not a problem in the slightest but worth mentioning if you're hoping to put your hypercar in their private garaging as that's not an option

CAN'T THINK OF ANYTHING THAT WE DIDN'T LIKE

THE HOTEL WAS IN A GREAT LOCATION WITH FANTASTIC VIEWS TO THE LLYN ESTUARY. WE WERE RUNNING A LITLE LATE ON OUR JOURNEY AND THE HOTEL WAS VERY ACCOMMODATING IN MOVING UR DINNER RESERVATION. WHEN WE ARRIVED THE HOTEL MANGER WAS REALLY HELPFUL WITH OUR BAGS AND IRECTED US TO TTHEIR PARKING AREA WHICH WAS A GREAT BONUS IN A SMALL STREET. WE HAD DINNER THERE ON OUR ONE NIGHT STAY AND THE FOOD WAS OUTSTANDING. BREAKFAST ALSO WAS REALLY GOOD AND QUICKLY SERVED. OUR ROOMS WERE SUPER COMFORTABLE. WE WILL DEFINITELY CONSIDER RETURNING IF WE ARE IN THE AREA AGAIN
