    Nothing in particular

It was a very beautiful home with lush green gardens and good views from the window. Property was very close to city centre and the owner of the house was very warm and welcoming. We had a lovely couple of days there

Sparling clean, with all the comforts of a home, great breakfast prepared personally for us, the host is a kind and very hospitable lady. The room is spacious, we requested a quiet one and it was provided for us. Parking at the property and not so far from the loch(15 min)walk. Green area, pleasant outside sitting area to drink a coffee or just enjoy the views.

    Absolutely nothing!!

From the minute we arrived to the offer of a tea or coffee, Anne was the perfect host. We wanted for nothing, the room was immaculate and exceptionally clean, the on-suit well stocked with lovely soft towels and a shower that was not only hot, but very powerful. There was a kettle and lots of tea, coffee and hot chocolate in the room as well as a small fridge with a bottle of water in it. The continental breakfast was great with a choice of meats, cheese, several breads, fruit and yoghurt. Fresh orange juice and a large cafeatere of coffee was most welcome to round off a great meal and set us up for the day. The B&B is set just south of Fort Augustus, in a very convenient situation, but very quiet with the town just a short drive or a 20mt walk away. Highly recommended to any traveler to the area

There was nothing whatsoever to dislike

We booked Carn A Chuilinn without prior recommendation, relying purely on the comments of people who had stayed there previously - it was deservedly highly rated. In our opinion Ann Nicholson, our hostess, provides a home from home. I can't praise her enough. We received a reassuring welcome and stayed on a bed and breakfast basis. I understand that Carn A Chuliinn also has self catering accommodation available. The breakfast was excellent and if Ann reads this I'd just like her to know that we now make our porridge to her recipe instead of microwaving. She has lived in the area all her life so is very knowledgeable about what to see and do and the best places to dine. Nothing was too much trouble for her. My wife and I are in our very late 70's, but Ann was like a Scottish mother to us. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Carn A Chuilinn to anybody seeking accommodation in the Highlands. Unfortunately, I didn't take any golf clubs with me this year and Fort Agustus golf club is just a very short walk away!

Lovely Host, Beautiful House in a Stunning Location
    • Leisure trip
    • Couple
    • Twin Room with Breakfast
    • Stayed 2 nights

The duvets were a little small (we were in twin beds) as they kept falling off during the night, and the beds were quite hard to sleep on. The only other thing was that Booking.com said there was a full breakfast with the room, but on arrival, it transpired that there is only a Continental option, which was quite frustrating.

Ann the host was very welcoming and friendly, the house is beautiful and parking etc works really well. The room was a great size as was the bathroom. The breakfast was lovely, and the views were second to none.

Nothing at all, everything was perfect.

Absolutely gorgeous!! Was not expecting so much or such quality. Fresh fruit, yoghurt, proper Scottish porridge, toast, and a lovely selection of meats and cheeses too. We were stuffed by the end of it. The room was fab, twin beds for my friend and I, cleanliness was brilliant, room was really spacious too. Just on the outskirts of Fort Augustus, so nice and quiet but quick and easy to get into town or to Loch Ness. Would definitely recommend, and would definitely go back next time I’m in the area.
