Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content

- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Location excellent for our cycle trip along the Kennet and Avon Canal Our room was beautiful and quiet, facing the churchyard so peaceful.. Staff very helpful, allowing us to store our bikes securely on the premises. Dinner and Breakfast very good too

Very friendly staff, lovely quiet room overlooking the graveyard where my ancestors are buried, tasty and well-cooked dinner with a great variety of vegetables.

The parking arrangements are not so good. Car park was free after 6pm, but had to go and pay at 8am the next morning.
The location is excellent and the breakfast also good

The staff were great. The room, albeit at the front of the property on the main road, was very quiet, thanks to secondary double glazing. The bed was really comfy and the shower was great. Biscuits and decaffeinated coffee in the room were well thought out. The breakfast was really nice. The only minor complaint was there were too many mushrooms. Less shrooms and another slice of bacon would have made it perfect. I was on a cycling tour and the hotel offered secure bicycle storage. If I return to Devizes, then I'm staying here again.

It seemed a bit pricey, but then we are a bit "keen"! Having said that I didn't mind paying the price for the location, room quality, and service.
The staff were excellent, from the bar in the evening (a bit riotous being Carnival night!) to the breakfast service. The room was very clean and comfortable, no complaints at all. I wished them the very best for the upcoming sale of the lease, they were doing everything right for that aim.

Excellent hotel - everything was stellar. The hotel is clean, modern, the service was great, the breakfast delicious and it had a great bar area including some screens with sport. Great bike storage for the family and our room was well stoked, clean and tidy.

Nothing at all - everything was perfect !
Our room at the Castle was very spacious and clean. The breakfast was also very good! The service throughout our stay was friendly and pleasant. Highly recommend the Castle to anyone. Cannot wait to stay here again one day, thank you for an enjoyable stay

Very friendly, helped with luggage, very clean and large rooms, perfect breakfast, new and large bathrooms with toiletries. Coffee and tea in room with delicious biscuits. It is a pretty town too with lots of restaurants and shops within walking distance.

The rooms and decor in the hotel were a little outdated, perhaps, but honestly I don't see this as a problem they were clean and comfortable and had their own charm.
The staff upgraded me for free from a single to an enormous double room. It was a hot day and there was a lovely ceiling fan in the room to keep the whole room cool. It felt very luxurious. The staff were incredibly helpful and had a huge lockable space for bikes which they informed my about in advance by email (as I asked). They were very bike aware and said they get many cyclists every year who are holidaying on the SusTrans Route 4 which I was taking. The breakfast was absolutely delicious!

Everything was great. A spacious room with a great ceiling fan (much needed). But the real winning feature of this hotel is the staff. Every last one of them were friendly and helpful. A really wonderful crew.

A super friendly welcome and all the team were the same. Our bikes were tucked away in a secure courtyard, beer was good, rooms were clean and comfortable, and a delicious breakfast.
