The shower does leave the majority of the wet room floor soaked. There was a handy mop that can be used to dry it off. You can hear the family through the adjoining door but once you close the bedroom door the sound is very minimal.

Fabulous beakfast selection. Comfy beds & a wonderful location for Sidmouth centre, beach, shops & restaurants. Real bonus with the parking space too.

The annexe is within a families home and although we were not disturbed during unsociable hours, it’s a very noisy household and it feels like you are in their lounge with them. Felt we needed to be extra quiet too as we’re conscious of disturbing them.

We were woken up to a yelling child next door, so insulation between the room and the rest of the house would have been very nice.

I loved how attentively the room was decorated and supplied with all the necessities. I had not expected a fridge (but I always hope for one!!) Or even a milk frother! As a coffee snob I really appreciated the coffee machine - a real surprise, so nice to not be subjected to instant coffee. All hail the bathroom floor heating, good insulation of the windows/double doors from the outside. And also all of the breakfast bits waiting for us in the fridge.

The annexe is ideal for short stay but we would have found it too compact for a longer break. Having read previous reviews we expected to hear some noise from the family home (the annexe is within the footprint of the host's house). This didn't bother us at all until Monday morning when we set our alarm for 8.30 am but were woken much earlier by the family getting ready for work and school.

Spotless comfortable room with parking in great location, just a few minutes walk from town and beach. Hosts provide a DIY breakfast which was excellent.

A light along the side walk and over the French doors for when you are arriving home in the dark.

Great for one night stop but a little cramped for space if required for longer stay.

Convenient for overnight stop in Sidmouth & within walking distance of restaurant where we had booked dinner. Quiet at night so good undisturbed sleep. Facilities and provisions for making continental style breakfast. Private access and carparking.

Great to have a parking space but it was quite a tight awkward space to get out of. As the accommodation was attached to the main house we could hear a bit of noise from the family. It would have been nice to have a tv.

Rather than say that we didn’t like anything we would prefer to make suggestions. The guest accommodation is a separate, but integral part of the family home rather than a distanced annex. Consequently the sounds of normal family life can be heard (this made us smile as it reminded us of our sons and their children). The addition of a TV in the room could deflect from this. It was a little difficult reversing out of the parking space in the dark. Perhaps some suitably positioned light reflectors or similar could help.

The property was very conveniently located within the town. The guest accommodation was tasteful, warm and comfortable and had its own access. The owners were available but not intrusive. They provided an excellent selection of breakfast items and beverages, which was a lovely touch. There was a file of helpful information provided.

No TV for evening time but that's nice for lots of people.sadly the noise from the washing machine is a little much 3 hours to ten o'clock on Sat night.

Nothing in particular.

The accommodation was self-service, with no interaction with the owner except when she came in to take dirty cups etc. Entry was by use of a key-safe. This is mentioned in the advert so no issue. The room was a little pushed for space, with no real room for a suitcase unless it would fit under the (fairly low-slung) bed. However what was there was excellent, and very clean. The shower-room was spacious, very well fitted out, and had a really good quality powerful shower. This, coupled with underfloor heating made a long shower a pleasure; something I don't usually enjoy.
