Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

A bit underwhelming for the money, quite hot in the room in summer and a lot of street noise from the window.

Location not the best at night We moved our car out of King's Walk car park as did not feel safe
Very helpful lady on reception Managed to get us an extra fan as the rooms were warm Really helpful to have cutlery incl bottle opener, and plates, bowls and glasses

Pillows were uncomfortable and carpet was abit bumpy.
Location was perfect from the train station. The young man on reception when we arrived was amazing he made us feel welcome. The bathroom was very clean 10/10, the beds were very comfy 10/10. Room was spacious and nice perfect for a family. The fridge and microwave were very clean. It was quiet at night. Close to shops, pubs, public transport & taxis 10/10.

I left my luggage in reception after checking out and someone removed the padlock from my suitcase and break into my case. So for I didn't notice any missing items
I did like the room with a view plus the staffs were pleasant and supportive

The bed was a bit old and the street next to the hotel I felt unsafe walking around it.
We liked that the room has things that we need, like: microwave, hairdryer, etc.

The beds are comfortable, but low to the floor, which for us, made it difficult to get up out of them.
The location is very good for all transport services. The provision of a fridge and microwave allowed limited self catering. Very good shower in bathroom.

The hair dryer was underpowered, a good hairdryer would have given this hotel a '10'.
Very pleasantly surprised by the generous room size and the extra useful facilities such as microwave and good-sized fridge. Great location for exploring Gloucester on foot. Powerful and good size shower. Would definitely stay again.

The room did get quite hot as there was no air con. A fan was provided but wasn't the best. It was a little dated. Cheap and cheerful for what you need. Close to town so you do heat construction nosie now and again.

Pillows were not great, and no streaming services on TV (although this is perhaps a little too much to expect, given the reasonable cost of the room).
Reception staffed, very pleasantly., large, comfortable room. Fridge, and kettle. Good shower, en suite. Very good central location, as per the name.

The sea gulls - horrific noise starting at 3am

A few new towels.
Good budget hotel at a reasonable price. Close to train and bus stations and in the city centre. Very clean, bathroom was impeccable looked newly renovated. The hotel stored our bags for a good few hours on the day we left.

Tired hotel and facilities and so it stops being good value for money when the room costs over £60 in my opinion. Basin didn’t have a mixer tap. The shower was stuck on hot. Body wash provided but no shampoo
My double room was about £45 which was excellent value for money. Great location near the train station and the town centre. Useful having a fridge, microwave and basic crockery in the room. There was a fan I used in the heatwave.

The pillows were very flat. It was very hot in the rooms but that was due to heatwave. Aircon would have been ideal. Everything else was fine for the price we paid.
The hotel was ideally situated for the train station, cathedral and central Gloucester. It was good to have fridge and microwave in the room. Fan was much appreciated as we came during some very hot weather.

It was exceptionally hot when we were there. Hotel supplied a fan but it was hard to get air flow. But I'm sure most places would be the same.
