Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The room was cheap because it had no windows, but it was clean and spacious, as was the bathroom.
Excellent location, just a short walk from the city centre. The host is wonderful, and the included breakfast is simple but satisfying. The area is quiet and peaceful. I’d definitely recommend Grant Rooms.

There was no continental breakfast. That phrase, to Mr, suggests a croissant at least, not a stale loaf and small boxes of cereal.

There was nothing i didnt like the whole place and experience was excellent
William was excellent very helpfull and couldnt have been nicer... the rooms were excellent spotless and so comfortable .. looking forward to staying again

Some more info on nearby parking would be helpful. We parked on the street nearby, which was fine as it was sat night/ sun morning, but if you're staying during the week, you'd need to find somewhere else.
Amazing location but somehow really quiet! We had a fantastic nights sleep, despite it being a busy Saturday night in bustling Derry! The bed was very comfortable, and the shower room was immaculate. Bread, milk butter, fruit, and cereal are a nice touch. 👌 If you're looking for a comfortable base, right in the middle of things, for a great price, then book here.

The host, William, was great and made sure we had everything we needed. There were basic food/drink items in the kitchenette which was very welcome. Shops and restaurant were only about 5 min walk. Would definitely recommend. A*

Whilst the fold away table and chairs is a great space saving idea, I would have liked a more comfortable seat. This small quibble, probably only applicable for the oldies.
Room was spotlessly clean. It had 2 windows and control of radiator level. Liked having use of the little kitchen, which was stocked with tea/coffee/bread/fruit etc. - Nice touch, as well as washing machine and ironing facilities. Location was great - just a few minutes from cinema, shopping centre/shops, restaurants and pubs. Found free parking on street and didn't need the car during our stay.

Comfortable, clean, central in Derry City, I had my own en-suite, are just a few of many words that best describes my stay at Grant Rooms. I am somebody who has always stayed in hostels before where there were bunkbeds which gave the feeling of student accommodation - I put up with hostels but it was a nice change with my stay at Grant Rooms as this more homely, personable, comfortable, private as I had my own room! I felt William was very accommodating showing me to my room and what the accommodation had to offer i.e secure door security, kitchen area, own bedroom with en-suite etc.

Wasn’t easy walking distance to restaurants etc.
Simple room with Ensuite and shared kitchen with 2 other rooms, so could do our breakfast etc. Quiet. Free street parking.

Mattress very springy and uncomfortable. No plug sockets near a mirror which made drying hair very difficult Fire alarm went off twice for no reason Alleyway leading to front door used as parking making access difficult

The only thing was that the room didn't have a window. Could get a little stuffy.
Room and ensuite were lovely and clean, bed was pretty comfy. There was a small shared kitchen where we could do our own cooking if we wished. The host was really nice.

Take some earplugs it can be noisy.
Room was very clean and looked to have been recently refurbished. There were facilities to make breakfast or hot/cold drinks accessible 24 hours. En-suite facilities were clean and it was really good value.
