The restaurant staff were a bit all over the show and didn’t really know what they were doing. The food however was unreal so no complaints from that side but the staff think we’re all knew to the job and got a couple of things wrong. Breakfast to the room was 20 minutes late and with us having to be in a meeting for 9am it made things a little rushed.

Hotel is beautiful, gorgeous surroundings and very peaceful. Room was immaculate but could do with a fridge and an upgrade on the mattress. It felt quite old and the springs were coming through slightly. The reception staff were lovely and very pleasant.

Cafe was a bit shambolic, cafe staff weren’t very coordinated resulting in longer wait times. Tables not cleared regularly resulting in clutter.

The hotel is showing signs of wear and tear and looking tatty in places - many walls and doors in need of paint. outside I noted the guttering to the rear of the wing is full of weeds , likely to fail and this will cause water ingress issues without repair. Lighting in my room was inadequate, there were no overhead lights above the bed.

Building is very grand, room sizes were great, although furniture a little worn, required a little TLC. Breakfast had a good selection of food.

Our room was a long way from reception and not easy to access which is difficult when checking in/out. Seemed to be working to a budget so breakfast was limited and lunch self-service which is disappointing for this grade of hotel. Also no bars serving alcohol around 6pm, one had run out and the other wasn’t open. Just feel there could have been a main bar in older part of hotel, which would add to atmosphere.

The grounds, spa facilities, plenty of areas to sit and relax both inside and outside. Beautiful setting.

It’s really sad to see that it has now been maintained well. The swimming pool is gorgeous but the glass ceilings have heavy brown stains and all the furniture has the paint flaking off.

The restaurant area is not great as was some of the food which was underwhelming. No beers served on so called health grounds given wine and cocktails served. The bedrooms are small as are bathrooms. Overpriced for what you get. Treatments are way too overpriced even though my wife enjoyed. I think we pay to stay at a top end place that in reality isn’t all as it seems. Nice place but not that spectacular.

Lovely location and grounds. Welcoming staff. Super pool and spa treatment facilities which my wife enjoyed. Good breakfast and again lovely staff. Crown pub with great restaurant down the road better than hotel restaurant.

As said above we would have stayed longer but unfortunately we booked for 2 nights but could only stayed one night as when booked and arrived the price changed a huge amount which was very unfortunate we also didn't manage breakfast due to disability we also think that all monies and extra charges should be made aware before booking so it could have saved an embarrassing check in and only being able to only stay one night as at first it was £308 then changed to £440 for one night and was unaware of any extras when I called the hotel itself before carrying on with the booking I just think between booking online and talking to hotel not enough information on extra cost should have been provided which was sad.....

We had a an amazing room and view of the water fall, we had an amazing meal and a glass of bubbly for my birthday but unfortunately we don't drink, the facilities were amazing as we are both disabled myself spinal my partner has titanium knees which the swimming pool, and Hydrotherapy pool he definitely needed as he is in hospital shortly for another procedure to do with his cancer, we would have loved to have stayed longer but would recommend the hotel in a heartbeat and would definitely go back thank you x
