Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomWe were greeted with a delicious welcome pack and milk. The cottage is homely with gorgeous beams showing a much older heritage than the outside suggests. It's well equipped, and the beds are comfy. Thank you Bella, and apologies as we forgot to write in the book.

United KingdomIt's on the corner of a narrow single lane with no stopping possibilities to offload a car without blocking the road. The garage is a strange construction and to get in would require reversing off of the main road up the one way street (uphill) into the garage over a hump diagonally. We found nearby street parking a better option, but for a smaller car it should be ok!
A great option for a family of 5 Despite only booking about an hour before we arrived, the owners were quick to respond and the issue caused by our late booking (garage key not onsite) this was resolved quickly and juice and milk was provided by the owner also. Good cooking facilities. We didn't use, but there's a nice outside terrace and clothes washing facilities.

United KingdomThere wasn't anything we did not like. We would have loved to have been able to have a little history on the property/ village available to read while in the cottage. We did not like that we had to leave 🙂
We loved the location. A short walk into lyme regis. A pub across the road and a garage/ shop 5 minutes walk. The garden terrace and off road parking were great. The cottage was very dog friendly. The bath was lovely and the water hot. We loved the option for the sink in the garage and the facilities to allow us to wash and dry clothes. What a beautiful quirky cottage !

United KingdomNothing - it was fantastic
The cottage was very clean, comfortable, great location and super dog friendly Even better that the cottage had a joining garage. Excellent garden which is fully secure for dogs. The hot water was always a great warm/hot temperature. Lots of fidget space. The owners of the cottage left a great and informative list. I love the fact they encourage recycling. The bed was really comfortable, as was the sofa. Each room was very light and well decorated The cottage, location and stay was amazing.

United KingdomThere was not anything we didn't like and we've stayed in lots of cottages over the years but this one has to be the best.
The cottage was unusual and quirky in a good way, very comfortable and very well equipped. We slept very well in the king-size room as the bed was so comfy. There was only two of us and we were visiting family in the area so it was nice to be able to host them for a cuppa in a lovely place. The dogs loved the unusual but large outside space. Having the garage was great as well as the washing machine and dryer. The thoughtful little extras such as juice, biscuits, milk etc were appreciated. Sadly we forgot to sign the guest book but we would definitely return and recommend the cottage to anyone visiting this lovely part of Devon.

United KingdomNothing, well the rain!
The cottage was lovely, the garden is a sun trap when we had sun. We walked into Lyne Regis on the river walk. The cottage is cozy with lovely furnishings and great for a weekend stay with dogs, especially liked using the garage. The pub does amazing food over the road also!

United KingdomLoved the property but if you want food from pub across road, you need to check they are doing food as they don’t always and if they are you need to book, having said that the local cab companies are amazingly helpful but again you need to plan and book. This enabled us to go into Lyme Regis for food. If you like walking it’s amazing walk to town and back 😀
Lovely cottage nice touch to have fresh flowers, really enjoyed our stay.

United KingdomBeing so close to a busy road and the parking was tricky. The kitchen needs a bit of a makeover (in comparison to the rest of the property), but had everything we needed for a short break.
Well equipped and had everything we needed for a short break away. The decor was lovely and we felt very comfortable at the cottage. The roof terrace was a lovely surprise. We were impressed with the washing machine and tumble drier being available too.

United KingdomWe liked everything! Although, I now hate my shower at home because it can never match upto the one in the cottage.
Such a gorgeous cottage. Very clean Really comfy beds All the kitchen essentials you could need Owners are lovely Sunfilled terrace Power shower! I honestly can't fault this cottage. We really enjoyed our stay. We had a slight leak from the shower and the owner came round as soon as he could to take a look and sort it out. He even gave us some information about some places to visit. Cant thank the owners enough for providing such a welcoming holiday home.
