Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomI liked everything about the property but my only advice to anyone wanting to stay would be to take a mirror for the bedroom as there isn’t one! Luckily I always have a handy makeup mirror in my bag.
Absolutely beautiful, exactly what we wanted full of character. Loved the locally made Daylesford crockery in the cottage to use and the beds very very comfortable. Also fell in love with the little windows especially the stained glass one at the front. Enjoyed sitting in the front window seat watching the horses trotting by and locals popping to the shop to get milk etc 😊

United KingdomThe cottage is in a fabulous quiet location and just a few minutes walk to two fantastic gastro pubs. The cottage itself is wonderfully old, with appropraite furniture and fittings - but still with the necessary modern touches. I'd highly recommend. The hosts were extreemly attentive and helpful.

United KingdomFirst thing I will comment on is there being a lack of fire wood/fire starters - not a worry though because we were able to buy some but would've been good to know beforehand.
Everything! The cottage was exactly how we pictured it. Was so cute and cosy, great interior designing and the heating worked really well (travelled end of Winter so it was quite cold before we turned on the heating). Awesome location to some great restaurants and very close to Daylesford Farm. Loved my stay and would 100% stay again.

United StatesThe weather was unusually warm some days during our stay and the top floor bedroom could get quite warm. A fan for that bedroom would be helpful in a similar hot spell.
Host was very communicative. Cottage was lovely and had everything we needed for our stay. Beds were really comfortable. Location was perfect for us. We truly felt like we had a taste of the English countryside.

United KingdomSofa and chair reasonably comfortable but low to the ground. Not great for Older couples. Bathroom could do with a bit of TLC. Kitchen cutlery was disgusting, silver plate tarnished having been washed off by constant dishwasher use. I complained to the host who apologised and said it would be replaced immediately. Loft room bed was uncomfortable and when we had a look under the mattress, it was being supported by a piece of MDF as springs had gone.
The cottage was very small and quaint, typical of its period, low ceilings and mullioned windows, creaky floorboards etc. Nice village with two good pubs for eating out. One main living room and kitchen space. Kitchen had everything required. Loft room has very steep stairs and a shower toilet sink and washing machine in.

AustraliaUpon arrival the lock was not opening with the correct code, numerous attempts to open. Oven and fridge were old and grimy - needs a good clean. Couldn't open the fridge door open fully as it hits the uneven flooring. Bad smell in the three levels of the cottage, airing didn't help. Beds weren't comfortable and lumpy, bathroom was dirty. Stairs to the top bedroom and laundry were incredibly steep and are not safe. Mail was left on the kitchen table, the lighting was poor on the ground floor. The couch was old and tired - requires replacing. During our stay parking was difficult to find close to the cottage.

United KingdomThe cottage was tired, I think it's designed for people to eat out , the fridge is tiny luckily we brought cool boxes. A few features like a mirror in each bedroom would help. Could be improved with a small amount of effort.
The Cottage was a great location for walking and 2 fab pubs.
